Though I will say that, while his approach is a totally valid one for his own survival, I don't trust Brahms's angle here at all. More likely, his goal is more viable if he defeats Shachiku, so he'll go through with it using cunning.

Did Arachne really take 10 whole days? I wasn't sure if Shachiku himself was here for 10 days.

And here I thought Medusa was gonna fill in as an extra obstacle since they're falling too fast. Nah, she was just a convenient plot device to get Kiira and Brahms alone. For 57 seconds.

How close was she to the teleport point, even? How much travel time and cutscenes made up that 57 seconds?

I think the game spend more time loading the Medusa boss info than the beheading

OHHH so THAT'S why the Kind Girl triggers a Game Crash - it really was because it'd cause overlapping events!
Medusa's awakening attacks her village, which is also near Laspis' hideout and Brahns implies Lapis works as some sort of defensive measure to her. So if you speedrun into attacking Laspis and talk to the girl you force the Medusa event into it simultaneously kickstarting her arrival. The original game wouldn't be able to load all that at once.

All this time it wasn't just some nod to gamebreaking glitches, rather the girl having a gamebreaking glitch of too many things happening at once was foreshadowing that she was related to a Mid Boss.

basically what caused my 400+ hours in 7 Days 2 Die savefile... accidentally stacked some events and some weird bug 'cause constant game crashes 'cause some effing xml files overlap when loading 'causing the game to just off itself from confusion... ended up with a new save file
