Eh, we don't need to see how he got to where he is over the course of the 2 years. I feel like that would actually hurt the story.

At least the guildmaster is telling our MC what he needs to hear in regards to Sasha. I know she kicked him out and she abused him, but if what the guildmaster said is true at least she didn't actually hate him...even if that doesn't actually excuse how she treated him. However, it could also be summed up simply as: she is still a child...oh she probably had other members over her shoulder with ulterior motives telling her to be that way and get rid of him. But, based on the conversation with the guildmaster he may not be as mad about the way she treated him anymore than with something else she might have done...which is most likely all a misunderstanding.

I wonder what the story will be like from here. Seems like it will have something to do with the two of them reconciling and starting to become friends/close again, even if slowly. If that is the case I am all for it as I have not personally seen a story like that (although they may exist I have not run across them)...so let's see where this goes!

Yeah, even if their relationship was on the rocks, It's still weird that Hyce had 0 doubt that Sasha tried to have him killed.

There's not enough steps in between to make that believable to me. It makes sense if he's using as a justification to nurse his grudge for being kicked out as well as isolate himself, and maybe that's where this is going, but who knows.

Nah, i got that feeling as well. He passed out at the end of the last chapter, I expected him to wake up in bed on this one brooding on the “betrayal”. Maybe even him grinding and moving up the ranks. Not a time skip.
It was one of the unfortunate part of the pacing. At the very least, he
still confronts Sasha of where she has been after he collapsed slaying that dragon he was (unknowingly) sent to,
so it's not really left a dangling end unanswered.

2 months later
2 years later
Its telling when this much time gets skipped
The author doesnt have what it takes to make any of it interesting or its gimmick shit where he just wants to hit his redditsawman amv moment and doesnt care about writing anything of real value
Like MC went through 2 years of challenges and adventures...and none of that is relevant? literally how, go back to the drawing board

You speak from the advantageous position of the reader, where you can see both points of view.

You have to see it from Hyce's point of view, prior to the point where Sasha kicked him out of the party it would seem unthinkable to him that she would ever betray the promise they made in front of their parent's graves no less.

And yet he was blindsided when she did exactly that, and again from his point of view she didn't do it to protect him, because she literally told him : "we want to advance to A-Rank and when that happens you'll only keep dragging down the rest of the team, and I plan for us to be the best team"

So in Hyce's mind she kicked him out of the party because she cared only for her own goals that apparently now don't align with the promise she made with Hyce.

So from the get-go Hyce's trust on Sasha had received a major blow, then for TWO MONTHS he had people talk about how Sasha and her party considered him the "shame" in the party's "records" and thus are trying to drag him down. Being bombarded by such rumors will inevitable take a toll on Hyce's already deteriorated trust in Sasha.

Then Sasha sends him to what appears to be a death trap, I mean would you believe that someone sent you in a "great herb gathering place", they themselves haven't scouted out or at least got info from the guild first? An SS+ rank dragon is not exactly something that's easy to miss.(and I am certain in the two years that have passed Hyce must have learned that the Guild was very much aware of the fact that this area was the dragon's nesting place, something that would not look good for Sasha in Hyce's eyes).

When you see it like this, you can understand why Hyce is like this. I assume his thinking process goes like this.(wherever I say "me" I mean Hyce)
"Sasha send me to die, but her plan failed, and now that my gift has been activated I managed to single handedly take down a monster that requires an entire party to kill." so :
A)Sasha is saying she didn't know to cover her attempt at murdering me pretending it was an honest mistake, and since the guild master is such a kind man he naively believed her.
B)Seeing my overwhelming power and realizing her blunder in kicking me out of the party she now desperately wants me a man that single handedly killed and SS+ ranked monster in her party and will obviously lie about her murder attempt, and the reasons she kicked me out of the party.

Once again, MC has a point. You can't just hand wave abusive language with "well, they probably didn't mean it." when there's been no apology and no accountability for the way they treated you.

For his own sake, speaking as someone in a similar situation with my family, he needs to forgive them and move on from this grudge. Forgiveness doesn't mean to absolve them of their actions or to stop holding them accountable, it just means that he needs to let go of his anger towards them and what they did. This is actually where I'm at in my therapy, it's really hard to disassociate forgiveness from absolution. I feel like if I forgive them, they've gotten away with everything they did, but my therapist and wife tell me that's not true. It's been 2 years for me too, ironically, so I know how hard it is.

You can see on page 10 (his missing eye) that he's struggling with the truth about why his childhood friend would kick him out like that and on page 11 (with his eye open) he was starting to show his true feelings. Anyway he's a dickhead and I think we all know that he's gonna buy a slave in the next few chapters to let us make bets on what kind of demi-human/elf girl XD
