This isn't feeling like a time travel / age gap romp. That's not really the tone so far. If that Tanabata myth and the star description is at play it feels more like something bad happened (the star/her is long gone) but their connection makes her linger. I'd welcome something of a lighter tone, but that's not the vibes I'm getting.

Speaking of vibes, adult Erika is a little off. Even the drunk president seemed more sad about Aya. Erika was framed as observing that grief as well as Koto's while she was just glad Koto seemed to be getting over it "at last".
