Definitely very abrupt from Kumagaya but to be honest Aya has been suspicious for a while, wouldn't have been that hard to find news of her dissappearance from 7 years prior and piece it together

Erika told Koto that Aya won't come back to her unless she gives her some distance and allows her to become her own person, separate from the person Koto wants her to be.
Koto is so attached to this ideal version of Aya that she FORCED HERSELF ON HER and basically ruined their relationship right there. She would be very lucky to ever be with her again. The fact that people in this comments section have decided to just overlook that part is disgusting.
Just as well, Erika has never made any advances on either of them, and has done nothing but offer advice to help them improve. Koto has serious problems that she needs to work on, and she does not need to be in a relationship right now.

Honestly I'm not even sure if Erika's endgame is getting with Koto at this point. Like yeah she loves her but that doesn't automatically equate to wanting a relationship and I think instead Erika just wants to see Koto move on and stop suffering after 7 years. If she wanted to date Koto she would've made a move, instead she calmly offers advice as to why Aya left.

I don't know what's so complicated about Erika. She just wants Koto to chose her over Aya. That's her "desire". That would resolve all her inferiority complexes and longing.

For that, she wants Koto to be clear headed about Aya and not wallow in her obsession, so she's trying to "break the triangle" in her own way, without hurting either Koto or Aya.

After all, she's the only one who knows the triangle exists.
