Got off the boat -> We need to get another boat

We started with a kidnapping plot, which stretched on so long it was burdensome. It kept going and now it's become absurd. I'm kind of curious how long this meme will last.

I’m more or less ok with this plot, and ok it’s being drawn out. There are other plot lines that are much worse the author could have gone down. At least this isn’t just “nothing is happening” like what a lot of manga devolve into.

But the pacing is rough. This series is kind of known for fun situations, and lots and lots of characters and cultures. Seeing how they all interact and grow. So having this type of story beat isn’t natural to the series and feels “off” even when it’s being handled fine.


As an example, picture this story arc in “Mairimashita! Iruma-kun”. An arc in that series, drawn out and slow, about Iruma having to re-learn everything very quickly and his friends/foes all helping him get through a smuggling across the world could be VERY cool. But only because that series is built for this type of storyline.

Damn I'm glad that the animal people are helping him out and seem to be sticking around more as characters again but this arc really is starting to drag even further beyond what I imagined. When he got free it seemed like a light at the end of the tunnel but now this time of being on the run is going even further, hopefully somehow someone with power that he knows finds him and either gets the collar off or puts a stop to her.

The hero, his friend, anyone at this point. Heck I'm surprised that the god hasn't stepped in at some point with how far things have gone, especially since he was fine appearing back when he introduced the printing press.
