The only reason why the saintess suddenly acts out of character is because it would've been mighty awkward when the oh-so wholesome gender-bender magic would've been turned against said maid in the very next chapter (despite that what would've been the logical development given villains character). Hence why everything continues to feel like a disjointed mess

So I dropped this when the whole amnesia thing started to drag on WAY too long. Waited months before reading again. So why are we still in this really freaking annoying arc?! Just magic them all back to the main group again so we can at least have bad writing with more characters. The worst part is knowing it's VERY unlikely any of this matters. There's only one character (maid that followed the saintness) that experienced a change during this arc and that's over (and didn't need all this). Everyone else could literally get amnesia about this whole arc and be the exact same.

There’s something I found very off putting about that saintess being some genuinely happy for her friend when we know she’s a bad person, and that feeling didn’t get any better when she threatened to have her friend raped to get info out of her. Yeah it was a bluff but I really can’t pin down this girls mental state

DW the author's just waiting to pull a generic vague "mental illness" out their ass to explain it all away and make everyone super duper care about her.

I definitely feel like this chapter is a perfect visualization of this series's problem. Antagonists that have zero to negative depth to them which makes the main conflict boring. The story started with the initial premise of the MC gaining unique and weirdly useful abilities they have to be creative with when solving problems that kinda just devolved into "okay I can do whatever I want whenever I want whether it makes sense or not" and then we get random stuff that feels like it belongs in a golden age comic book (and even then it's a stress). The MC also isn't endearingly nice, they're just bland and barely feel like they're interacting in the surrounding environment. The somewhat interesting conflict of him using the summoning to grow in his own world is gone (and was never well resolved (this author has a major issue of characters verbalizing what's happening in that moment)) and nothing else ever really got interesting but before now this series stayed low investment and okay generic story telling. These last idk how many chapters just feel like an author being self aware and dragging on a sinking ship.

While it was really weird scene thats kind of true in real life. Human beings are complicated and one person can be absolutely horrifying monster in one situation and really kind and caring in another. (Though occasional kindness obviously doesnt excuse horrible behaviour)

I follow a forensic psychiatrist on youtube who often works with violent criminals and this is one thing he often mentions. Apparently most them are even likable.

Edit: so I decided to reread this series from the beginning and the whole kidnapping memory loss arc started at chapter 47. This whole arc has now gone on for nearly 20 chapters. Jesus I didn't think it had dragged on nearly as much as it has

I'm beginning to type some unhinged degenerate things because of this frustratingly endless arc. Someone said this arc has been going on for nearly 20 chapters. We are at chapter 64, this one arc is already nearly a third of this manga's entire length... and this is still not looking close to finishing.

I put this manga on hold way long before this kidnapping arc began and now I'm regretting that I put it on hold too early, back when things were still much better than this.
