Broke: I read romcoms so I can imagine cute girls loving me!
Woke: I read romcoms so I can imagine cute people in a mutually beneficial relationship, forever improving their life!
Dead Broke: I read romcoms because I miss having friends.
What if I do all of these but not necessarily all at once? Like, it's a cycle.

Wow, an Okudera chapter... It's been so long, glad she's doing better. I think the last time she appeared it was hinted that she might get with the nice caring manager after her traumatic experiences with the Black Company she was at before.

Man, this has slowed down to the point where I might drop this, but I know what's going on: The author has either run out of ideas or he wants to close all ends before reaching the final arc. But looking at the unanswered questions regarding senpai's past, this could drag on for at least two more years.
I no longer care about the side characters, there is not a single antagonist pushing the MCs towards one another, etc. I thought Mona would have been that character, but it was too good to be true. Her straightforward nature would have done an excellent job at forcing Igarashi out of her comfort zone.
Get on with it, I can assure you that if Igarashi confesses, he will reply with excuses but will ultimately say yes. I can see how it will end without having to wait.
Or maybe I was expecting a lot from this comic to begin with. Takeda is thirty something, he can't be that stupid. I can relate to shonen where a young man is oblivious to love, but in my thirties I can definitely tell when a girl is interested in me solely by her attention. Maybe it's different in Japan, but damn dude...

People be like "bro if you don't like meaningless side character chaff get over it and read another manga"
If you can't see why people would be upset at the fact that we're in the fucking 200's and there has been no meaningful character development between the main characters, then you need to consider reading something like Garfield or Peanuts.
Also, please stop doing this bullshit deflection technique "uhhh if you don't like it don't read it and stop complaining!!!!!" - please grow the fuck up, we're allowed to criticize things.

Except your braindead attempt at "criticism" is nothing more than the whine of a spoiled, shit-faced twat. So take your own terrible advice, grow the fuck up, and move on to something closer to your speed like Dora the Explorer.

Unironically this is what I wanted but the way this author writes the main and side characters have been infuriating and it eventually triggered my 'tism enough to make me post.

Literal filler chap.

I wanna see someone make a wall of text thesis about THIS chap.

Come on, I dare ya.
I'd argue that usagi drop's final few chapters which tarnished it's image of being a wholesome family manga had a massive impact on any manga depicting a dude and a loli in a somewhat father/child thematic
If it wasn't clear before I hated the way Usagi Drop ended and it steered the story hard into something that I didn't expect the manga to be. This whole bullshit with Natsumi and Yuuto is equally infuriating to me because it shows the author is a coward who won't show her outright accept or deny him and is going for an "it's open to interpretation" resolution for both their ending and the feelings she has for Futaba.

Also I hate how tomboys lately only have two storylines: "I'm in yuris but she doesn't love me back" or "I wanna become more feminine for a guy". Most of my previous spergout was about that. I'll keep in mind that ESL's and Zoomers hate reading and try to keep my posts formatted like a twitch chat.

That said though happy for Okudera, good for her.

Spoiled? Sure, if you consider wanting a story to actually fucking conclude to be "spoiled".
Oh, but my bad - I forgot about the point in Macbeth when Lady Macbeth spent 7 Acts talking about how much she loves Macbeth but doesn't know how to approach him.
Or in Bloom Into You when Yuu's sister got the spotlight for an entire volume. Because that's just "enjoying the small, precious things in life", right?
Or when in Jojo Part 7 when the story shifted to Hot Pants' childhood and how she was actually really into horse riding and sewing.
Spoiler alert - none of that happened, because those authors knew how to write a fucking story and not have it meander on with bullshit for literal years. Do you want some precise criticism? Ok here you go:
This manga has lost its narrative focus, meandering through subplots and filler arcs that detract from the core storyline, notably the interactions between the main couple. As the main couple was the hook of the manga for the first 100 chapters, it is disappointing narratively that their relationship has not progressed.
Now please, elaborate on why you think aimless SoL is better and a more accurate description of the manga as a whole, because I sure as hell never thought that to be the case reading this initially.

I love how this cute slice of life manga has somehow devolved into having such a weirdly toxic discussion in recent chapters.

This comic is overstaying its welcome. Not to be an asshole, but I feel Okudera was literally added to the mix just because "we need more filler" while the author finds a way to create a believable romance between them and "everybody loves waifus, right?". What purpose does she serve to the plot once she defeated her depression? Pushing the MC towards her sempai?
In the beginning I thought it was a witty comic, especially because it strayed away from the usual weak, antisocial MC and the "too good to be true waifu". But then, it strayed to the point where it seems I am watching Schierke from Berserk crushing on Guts while nothing happens (and I'm not dissing one of the best Seinens of all time, Guts seems not to be interested).
The Nagatoro mangaka had the guts to pull off a mixed bath scene where both MCs are alone and stark naked and a nude modeling chapter. Even the Gal Gohan author went full GigaChad and had a teacher and a student hooked up.
So no, there is no excuse. This is just like ggw1176 said, this is trying to be like a Garfield/Peanuts comic strip where things reset once the chapter ends. The only continuity is provided through side characters and subplots, we do not know how many years have passed, their age, etc. It's all conveniently ambiguous.
I am starting to sigh every time I see an update: "It's going to be an absolute trash chapter, isn't it?" For a while, they have been.

I agree, little things are important -but without any direction- life is meaningless.

Guys, I forgot that what we wanted in the beginning was a regular SOL strip and not a ROMANCE one. Gotta check that Dora, perhaps she has it all: nonlinear progression, zero character development, an obvious plotline, etc. I hope it does not turn out to be like Blues Clues, where things actually changed. Remember when they REPLACED one of the MCs? Unforgivable.

They’ve introduced side character after side character to have romance subplots, but still refused to have any progress with the main two.
At this point even Futaba and Harumi NTRing one another would be a welcome plot development for fuck's sake.

You know what because I'm bored and we have to wait 2 more weeks for like 4 pages of (probably) nothing, I want to predict an out of pocket ending:

Igarashi confesses to senpai but then out of contrivance, they don't end up together. Maybe they do but he dies or reveals he's gay or something. After that, an epilogue shows Natsumi get together with Igarashi on the rebound after senpai's out of the picture.

All the Stockholm Syndrome fans are gonna grasp for symbolism like "Oh I get it, because Summer (Natsumi) can only come after Spring (Harumi), and Futaba means double so she was planned to be bisexual from the start!" etc. etc.

Yuuto is gonna be written off as having grown up and moved on to get a steady girlfriend, his sister and gamer boy get married, and all the single friends would just be reduced to a cameo.

Final panel of the manga would show Futaba and Natsumi holding hands, with Natsumi having green nail polish on her ring finger and Futaba has yellow on hers, but the ending will (probably) never state if their relationship is anything more than friends, because they're the author's personal OCs made for lewd art and the only reason they'd go for a yuri ending is if the author wants to keep cooming to them in their pixiv fanbox without thinking of them having relationships with men.

It's been like 200+ chapters. I'd hate it if they try to end this like "Blue Flag" mixed with "How I Met Your Mother" but I don't care who ends up with who anymore. I just want to find out if I wasted my time and forget I was ever this deep in.
