im thinking the reason the author made the bartender a trans was because they needed mc to know someone who could help with the lady stuff, but didn't want them to be considered a romantic interest by the readers - and what better way to ensure that readers know a relationship is platonic than to make it so that the two were literally bros?

That hardy seems a valid reason, tbh. I mean, if mc gets found out, he could very well be charged with kidnapping and go to jail, no questions asked, so that seems like a massive risk.
If we are getting a higehiro2, then i expect the reasons for the runaway to be life or death, or something equivalent to it, like an abusive stepfather/mother, some serious case of bullying, or something along those lines.
Being a hikki and having your parents mad at you doesnt seem like a strong enough reason for me.

But just in case there's more, then where the hell were your outrage when the leads in Shingeki no Eroko-san, 17 and 28 respectively, did the 'deed'!? 7 pages of comments, and not one single negative posting in sight.

I do think the age gap is bigger here, on both ends of the spectrum. That said, it does feel like less of a grooming situation here. I think all the dick jokes in the first chapter through people of on the tone of the relationship. I think they are probably used to talking like that online since people assume everyone is male online.

Most of the male trans who went through the whole procedures claim to have male genetalia, and so do the female, though I do not check whether they are telling the truth or not, nor do I check whether it feels like the real thing or not.
