Errr... With all due respect of the community, without any discrimination, I will skip this. it is not the kind of ship I'm interested to ride.

While the author has total creativity freedom, I might occasionally read this again when arc is different, unless the story gets interesting about real identity vs hormone identity (Does the author wants this ship in such direction?)

YES, thank god the author is doing something interesting again. I am sorry, but "doomed idol story" is such an overused and common trope in mangas that I hated the last arc. At least this time "doomed yaoi" will be the focus and personally I think it can be more interesting, but only time will tell

I'm really not a fan of BL, so I think I'm just gonna bow out here. Not disparaging anyone or their orientation, it's just not my thing.

Hope it works out for Asahi, third times the charm I guess?

Hmmm it's been a while since that exact chapter but I think there was a mention of a character being asexual early on, so this doesn't surprise me. Feel the way the author drew male characters was also sort of inclining that route. I don't mind it per say but like every past arc things could get ugly.

Ty for the chapter~~

The author handles these subjects admirably. People screaming “omgomg BL I’m out!” are probably expecting some ridiculous nonsense which I don’t think has ever been the case with this series. This manga explores complicated human issues with tact and I am sure that’ll be what we get.

Honestly i'm just relieved they seem around the same age (not that age can't can't be done well, although maybe not fitting for this story given what happened the first arc but given the title i was worried he'd start hooking up with random middle aged old men or so)

How the hell did you project this much into my comment lol.

I just don't like BL full of rapey tropes and exaggerated dynamics. I didn't say that they're wrong or shouldn't exist or that people can't like them, just that I hope this story doesn't go in that direction because I appreciate more nuanced depictions of queer romance instead of pure eye candy.

I literally finished my comment by saying I'm looking forward to this arc, like wut.

My bad for having an opinion I guess.
At least we did get an authors note saying they would try to handle it as best they could

Some of the more 'nuanced ' stuff might come from autobiography but other than the erotica stuff, i'd hope some of the 'modern' BL stuff would have gotten better than it was 15 years ago but yeah i wouldn't expect a lot of straight male readers to be interested in this arc, outside of the 'crossdressing femboys BL' i think it'd be more likely for someone to read something like Zettai BL which is a parody/satire on the tropes

I guess it is a good sign he's making the first move(?) this time (well i guess the other guy did confess) b/c i guess based on how the first girl reacted he might've just passively accepted confessions (tho after like maybe the third or fourth girl personally I'd find it a pain and try to make my self 'uglier/plainer' or so versus them all being attracted to his attitude, but it would be too much of a 180 [tho common in shoujo romcoms i guess?] for the 'cool aloof boy' to suddenly be doting/clingy to you or so in a dere way but this isn't that kinda story)

Oh boy, oh boy! I wonder how the forum is going to react to this chapter.
45% - This arc is going to be gay! I'm dropping this!
35% - I hope the author doesn't screw up this arc. The first one is still the best.
15% - I'm into this right here, LFG!
5% - IDC, I'm just here for the art.

As long as this is Japanese depiction of boy's love and homosexuality, I am willing to continue reading. I know it will not be weird fetish as America's "pride" propaganda currently being pushed out. I mean, Japanese is much more classical than American, you all get me?

more like the plot is good enough for me to read. Art is probably the same, too. I don't get why some readers are so sensitive to the genre...

pick a manga and read, as long as it doesn't offend you, it's best to read it through and give it a review.

My perception of Japan is not usually informed by what I see in Anime or read in Manga; that said, it is widely known that same-sex relationships are a taboo in many Asian cultures, and even in countries that do not explicitly criminalize homosexuality, "gay" marriages are not legally recognized.

Keep in mind that Sensitive Boy is a story that takes place in contemporary Japan, is written by a Japanese author, and is intended for a Japanese audience. In other words, the direction of this arc might surprise American readers whose understanding of sexuality is informed by its depiction in American media, where homosexuality finds an unparalleled degree of tolerance and representation.

Maybe, just maybe, this arc can authentically represent how Japanese culture understands sexuality; that would be a welcome departure from the works that instead use their medium to represent the author's ideal of society (which, unless this intention is clearly stated at the outset of the work, can misinform readers—especially foreign readers).

I know this is probably going the gay/bi route, but I'm almost curious about if Asahi is ace and therefore feels the same way (disinterested/nothing/etc.) towards both sexes. It'd make the title make sense in a fairly (unfortunately) relatable way if him being incapable of loving someone in the standard romantic sense made him feel "hollow". It could make an interesting arc where he tries to find love with this new person, puts himself out there, and then realizes its not for him after being hurt/hurting the other guy, and that'd be in line with the overall theme of the story.
I'm ace but because I'm a cis woman in a relationship with a cis man I tend to just say I'm straight. I would be really intrigued if they wnr that route because I can totally get that slight sense of hollowness in knowing you just don't feel the same as most everyone else.

For real, they get one reminder that gay men exist and they lose their shit! Sensitive Boys indeed lol
While this is a more serious story i imagine some would argue that a lot of mangaka artists can't write 'straight romances' either lol, tho i imagine there's some good serious nuanced stories versus those rom com harems and bs misunderstandings
