I really like how everyone involved has their own personal goals and reasons to do what they are doing. It makes the characters feel much more organic than if it was just Team A vs Team B with everyone sharing the same objectives. The way it all ties to D is well done too.

I can't wait for D to crash everyone's plans with no survivors. Page 14 is incredible. It's great seeing Hibiki assert D's right to choose his own fate. I assume the new Red's gonna be his usual homicidal self after this. RIP Pink huddled up in a ball of shame lol. I forget; what are all of Yellow's powers? Swords of Revealing Light, invisibility, flight, and what else? Some kind of lightning power?

Okay, theory time. Remember all that fuzz a bunch of chapters ago about the Core of the Fortress? And the "truth" about footsoldiers?

I've got a feeling it all has to do with that misterious figure called Death Messiah. Not the replica created by the IRA, the "Canon" one from the old TV series. I'm placing my bet that all footsoldiers are just a fragment of a single Executive, and that if every one combined together (probably after the crystal is destroyed or something?) they would form the real Death Messiah.

I thought about this when I asked myself, why can't any of the Executives just create a bunch of footsoldiers more? They never seemed capable of doing so. We were told long ago that Footsoldiers are created by the Executives, but now instead they're made by Yellow Keeper... Unless both things are correct. One Executive could have spawned them, at the cost of getting shattered. And Yellow would have for sure prepared a climax for his "show" with Death Messiah as the final boss.

Also, I think it makes sense that D, having developed a pseudo alter ego with the replica Death Messiah, would constitute the mindset, the ego, for the real one. Whenever he thinks of giving everyone a "bad ending" like this, I think he actually has the capability to do so, if only he knew how to unleash the true potential of footsoldiers.

Theory time: "D" stands for Death Messiah

Iirc in early chapter they mention that foot soldier is created by a sacrifice of 1 executive.
