You know, if this were an anime, they could do so much with animation style and BGM. Keep it stark and dramatic, and it plays as the toxic yuri some people think it is.

Switch into a cutesy style with comedic music, and people would see it for the silly love comedy it just as well could be.

The betting is getting a bit weird though. It made more sense in the beginning when Komaki was generally excelling and sports and games, because that's realistically in her control. At this point it's either straight up divine intervention, or truly superhuman levels of prediction and deduction, and that seems a bit out of place in a romance story.
