It's not a bug, it's a feature
Really? If they add that scene as an extra chapter.. atleast I could have sympathy to this chapter. They cut out a lot of the story, huh. It's a shame we couldn't see Komaki in honest mode when she was sick, but it's okay. As long as they are honest with each other in the end.
I got to the last 5 pages only with the thought of "wtf" 😂 😂 😂 😂At this point i just skimmed through 🥲..
There's good toxic yuri and then there's whatever this is 😐
It feels like it's just toxic to force some form of connection in the story, but also tries to be a "wholesome" romance and they're honestly conflicting..
There's virtually zero reason for mc to love Komaki, but she does, just because, makes all the drama almost feel like a comedic form of S&M, as a reader i really can't find a reason to sympathise with Komaki
Holyy reading comprehension. Couldn't have put it better myselfI get Komaki's logic, in a sense.
It feels like there had to be some sort of ...."more", I guess, in terms of a catalyst, than simply "Wakaba didn't look at me in a special way, like she did those other girls in her life". I think that feels a bit too shallow of a starting point, to then go "if she won't love me the most, then she needs to hate me the most".
I know the saying goes "the opposite of love isn't hate, but indifference", and that hate is simply the same extreme of love, but inverted - but I think that's the general issue with the story up to this point.
I want there to be some trauma to Komaki's early life that makes her think that "hate" is a stand-in for love, rather than just arriving at that conclusion in some sort of vacuum. Maybe if she thought "I can't have Wakaba, so making her hate me will help drive my feelings for her away by making her leave my life entirely" - which backfires, and then we get to this point.
Maybe that was actually spelled out at one point and I just missed it, but as-is from what I have seen, it feels a touch disconnected, and shallow.
All that aside, it feels like the endgame, but I also thought that the novelization went past this point, so I guess we'll wait and see.
But if they're finally getting to the point that Wakaba and Komaki are on the same page about their feelings, and Komaki starts making an effort to cut the "make her hate me" nonsense going forward, then at least we'll maybe get some more substance out of their relationship, and possibly some more development for Komaki from here.
But, thank you for the TL work, and for continuing this series.
