No, the newer chapters are also going to be removed, and most likely uploads of those manga won't be allowed like for one punch man. They've already written about it earlier in the thread.
My guess would be that a lot of them are licensed in other languages, especially French. Most French people can read English.

Most people used #lurk back then. Before that it was mostly torrents or e-mule or e-donkey or whatever their names were I think. Then I guess mangahelpers, then batoto, and then mangadex.
People still use sadpanda even though fakku and that other site completely killed it with dmcas.
Piracy is not a service problem, it's a pricing problem. People just don't want to pay for something they're used to getting for free, and feel entitled to do so. That's the sad thing about scanlations really, it has made people expecting that reading manga is something you don't have to pay for.
