I hope shima realizes his feelings soon
i kinda agree(?). I was sure hoping that it would just build it up from that but ig author san's way is to try it out, make them realize their feelings or whatnot by making them distant but, could already see that the childhood friend is plotting something, which is i despise reading in this type of romcoms.I think I'm done with this manga. Watching this arc with Mitsumi just punting this potential relationship away with Shima was frustrating and painful to watch. Now, I can't take Mitsumi seriously if all I can expect her to do is just run away.
I mean the awkwardness of both of them is what we expected and watching them grow from this starting point would have been endearing, but this? Mitsumi just quitting right off the bat after a slight bump in the road? How am I supposed to root for this character if she isn't willing to try to commit to anything and or quit at the first sign of trouble?
I'm annoyed because I was invested. like 6-8 volumes invested. This is where the story is supposed to have me hooked and it trips and dies a sad miserable and pathetic death. It would be like watching Frodo journey half way only for him to trip, fall and drown in a mop bucket at Rivendell.

Agree about this. Plus, sometimes you just reject people for not feeling the same 🤷🏽♀️Well, Mitsumi's got a job leading the student council, she's in a preparatory school in Tokyo, and her goal is to enter Tokyo Uni, the most difficult university to enter in Japan. To enter, you need to pass a real ass hard exam. It's already been shown in the manga a couple of times that when she's not focusing, she easily drops her score.
The reason she came to Tokyo is the future of her homeland, and she feels responsible for the financial aids her family gave her (her younger sister not likely have a chance while she rants to go to Tokyo).
These are her main objective that she cannot forget.
So, while she wanted keep a good relationship with Shima, she remembered all the work needed for her dream, and realized that she won't be able to handle emotional hardships she'll likely to face by being in a seemingly unrequited relationship. Especially when it kinda started by an accident, and Shima is apparently not ready. That's why she cried in front of Ujiie.
Imo it's totally understandable she made her decision before it gets too late to the point they cannot go back to being friends. And she really conveyed that in a real nice way. Shima apparently needs some time to think through and learn more about himself and explore his true feelings.
And it's been made clear that Mitsumi loves Shima as a friend too, and imo that's no inferior to a romantic relationship. I love the direction the author went for and am invested to see what happens in the future (while I do believe they still have another chance. Just it was too early).
U still write that huh? After bunch of chapter, just gtfo and put this manga on ur dropped list and turn off the manga updates. Shit head. U want some reply and attention right? Here, i give u, and stop making new comments again on the next chapter.I think I'm done with this manga. Siroh, with all due respect, you are just handwaving a lot of the issues Mitsumi created and dumping all of them squarely on Shima.
