Sure, that can happen by definition, but it's not always a bad thing. Bill Gates built a mega business out of a programming hobby and is still living a good life. Linus Torvalds didn't become as rich through programming, but he's still at it, probably happily. Those are just a couple of world-famous examples, connected to computers. Every town will have less known examples of why losing a hobby by turning it into livelihood is not necessarily a bad thing. Though that being said, it doesn't happen 100% of time. A car enthusiast can make a living at a repair shop, but on their spare time might be rebuilding old Mustangs and other classics for his own entertainment (which is a hobby).
