I have long since thought about if I should contribute to this thread being in favor because I really love music but being doubtful because the music I listen to is anything but mainstream. If my further contribution should be undesireable, please tell me.

WARNING: Classical music ahead!
Era: Medieval

Doubtlessly the right song for the beginning of April and the most fitting earworm I woke up with this morning. A love song for the season of spring fever.

"Bituene Mersh and Averill" from the Harley manuscript (ca. 1310) musically performed by The Sherwood Consort.

@Albwin

I couldn't understand the lyrics (CC didn't show anything), but it does indeed seem fitting for spring.
Generally, you don't need to add warnings unless it might be genuinely unpleasant (screeching/volume/vuvuzela/etc.)
After all, what is the point of the wide variety of music if not to be shared with one another?

Anyways, my contribution to this thread:

@Albwin That's totally okay. My music taste is both anything but mainstream and all over the place as well.
And it's nice to hear a song that isn't in Japanese. I love Japanese music with all my heart but it's almost too predominant in this thread.

Fun fact: The album "Daisy" (by Brand New) begins and ends with this song, with it's first half being played at the start of the song "Vices" and it's second half being played at the end of the last song "Noro". The frontman (Jesse Lacey) supposedly bought this tape at a garage sale and decided he liked it enough to implement into his album. The singer (Bertrand Brown) was just a church lady, but it's my opinion that she should have been a professional singer.

It isn't as if I wouldn't listen to Japanese music. I particularly like traditional Japanese music, e.g. minyo or gagaku.
I further like Western Classical music written by Japanese composers, particularly those pieces where symphony orchestras play traditonal Japanese(-inspired) music and/or are joined by traditional Japanese instruments.

Classical music ahead!
Era: Modernist/20th Century

My choice today is Sugata Isotaro's Op. 8: "Peaceful Dance of Two Dragons", namely it's first part: "Jo (Misterioso e gentile)".

Today I have chosen klezmer music, the traditional music of the Ashkenazi Jews from Eastern Europe. The word klezmer which has come to denote this music means but musician in Yiddish, the language of the Ashkenazi Jews originated from German but enriched with Hebrew influence.

The piece chosen today, "Saposzkelech", is a traditional Yiddish love song performed by Quartet Klezmer Trio.
