By this point generic engineering should have figured out how to fix any of these so perhaps we're already in the clear? Worst case you just force another life into this hell we call existence.
I’ve also thought this, in the future we could use genetic engineering to get rid of the harmful recessive genes so that we could get rid of the main danger of inbreeding. This could be used for stuff like helping endangered species where there isn’t enough genetic diversity to avoid inbreeding and definitely not to make perfect babies with your sister.
but what if you wanted to go even further (or should I say closer) than your sister? What if you want a girl who isn’t just 50% the same DNA as you but 100%? Hypothetically it would be possible to make a female clone of a male human by removing the Y chromosome from one of your somatic cells and replacing it with another one of your X chromosomes and implanting the nucleus into an egg cell. You could also snip out all of the bad recessive genes you are heterozygous for and you would have a female clone of you with perfect genetic compatibility.
Imagine that, perfect genetic compatibility with someone who was made from you and is, in a sense, a part of you! It would be a closeness impossible to match, she was literally made for you. Work hard and become successful for your future clone imouto‘s sake because I’m sure artificial wombs, eggs and genetic editing will cost a lot, but not too much since the chemistry isn’t that special. We would already have this by now if not for those damn ethics committee nerds holding us back.
Someone should make a manga about having a clone imouto/daughter for 100% wholesome and ethical reasons.
