There is a difference between a fucked up story being presented in an artistic way versus a fetish piece.
The manga I want an update on doesn't pass the situation off as a desirable fantasy, it was clearly showing a story about people being fucked up by society and by themselves.

I loathe the fact that shit like these, 10 years ago would have stayed on some hentai sites, now have clogged up mangadex main pages, while series with actual substances are drowned out to never see the light of day.

Good point but you don't know that mangadex already have these type of manga back then? It's just not on the main page because people are still busy catching up on those story-dense manga. Now that most people have read them, they want something new, and this just happens to come by as they're looking for some mindless fun. Also, when a new plot-heavy manga comes out, it definitely still shows up on the main page, and it stays there, until the translators caught up to the raws or they dropped it. Manga that are constantly pumped out like these get easy traction but they fizzle out just as easily.
