Ah, I love the school chapters. The only chapters that are better are the ones that advance the Loid/Yor romance

Anya actually got a Stella, that’s fuckin impressive. She also got a bolt, it’s becoming clear that it’s gonna come down to the wire and she’ll have an equal amount of bolts and Stellas to the end

Damian's brother (and possibly his dad as well) reminds me of the anecdote that Hitler was competent in sketching architecture but struggled to draw people, which probably belied deep-felt frustration and isolation from the rest of humanity. I wonder if the author's doing some historical allusion.

Anya is actually really smart no? In terms of the plot, (I think I remember this right) she lied about her age to loid? So she is actually doing coursework ahead of her age group let alone at an academy that is for gifted kids too

Very happy with Anya, and proud of Loid for focusing on the W instead of the L. I know my parents would've focused on the latter

Older brother has reached absolute zen state of nothingness in his mind, or he is a human computer - possibly an experiment like Anya. Would explain his father's oversight in his younger years

This chapter genuinely feels so... Mixed up. First part we see Anya's hilarious ess on how proud she was for getting a star and her immediate downfall after realizing she also got a bolt.

Second, we see Loid getting a little personal with Anya, asking about her life before she was in the orphanage.

Then we meet Damian's brother who is a bigger mystery. I genuinely thought when Anya read his mind he was able to sense he was being read. But it turns out he can't think properly. Guessing he was just made to do what he was told to and not think at all. Like actually not think and only obey his father.

And lastly we see Anya's usual antics again which causes Loid to be more confuse.

It's jumbled up into lots of... Emotions, I guess?

I still keep seeing an ominous undertone from what neighbor grandpa was saying (about acknowledged effort and what's not) which could be about experiment he's done in the past and when it was canceled or he was kicked out.

Facial expressions this chapter were great

Just like one of the teachers said to Damien's friends, the ability to zone off is important.

Demetrius has mastered this ability.
