This is how you do a "redemption" story of a villainess. You don't turn them into a nadeshiko, an airhead, a reincarnator, or an abrupt change of personality, or something boring like love. You use character growth.
You see, this chapter right here shows character growth. Why? She finally has someone important to her. And instead of being selfish, she decides that Anne was more important than herself.
You see? Its subtle, yet overtly obvious. She is growing as a character. She isn't switching personalities. She is literally growing step by step, into a less selfish person. I mean she is still selfish, but this is just a first step. And people grow slowly over time, they don't suddenly just change.
Man, after reading so many villainess stories, you get so hyped up when someone does it right. They don't change quickly, they are slow to grow, and they still retain their core essence of their character.
Yeah, you others might consider this a minor thing, but to someone like me, this is a big deal. Every chapter she grows a tiny bit, but still keeps what makes her... well her.
