got to remember for some of these people, they only know of the rumors that have been spread about her, which is what leads to her being able to get through some of these things as they just chalk it up to what they have heard

I'm not sure I can even say she's bullshitting. Because that usually implies that you are intentionally lying your way through things. She's just sort of stumbling around and people just miraculously fill in all the holes for her through interpretation or additional comments.

yeah, I am not a fan of how the manga did his spear, since it feels like too much of an axe. Also Mia isn't as dumb as she might appear, she's just lazy more than anything, but when given the right motivation, she can be rather intelligent.

I was about to say that the LN (official English translation at least) mentioned that Bernando used a spear and the tip was cut off during the clash. Plus, he is also called Adamantine Spear, but his weapon was drawn looking like a polearm or a halberd so I thought I was remembering the wrong things.

This chapter corresponds to LN vol. 2 ch. 39 in case anyone else wanted to have a read (I know because it annoyed me enough I had to look back and check).
