Can you actually lay out your analysis as to why that is the case in literary terms? Because saying "it's bad" just because you personally don't like it isn't a valid argument.
First of all you need to know when to actually switch to the humor from the seriousness. Just like with jokes in general it's all about timing. The fact that the previous chapter was entirely dedicated to a very serious moment of a woman dying and thinking about her life to then immediately open up this chapter to a guy's ass being groped is not good timing.

All I want from this manga, is for Faust to crush Astartre's hand as she gropes him.
In our world, a man groping a woman would get their heads crushed, especially if they're on "friendly, good terms". Faust is definitely being too cowardly here.
It's cause he likes it, he's enduring all he can to grope her back.

He has our worlds morals, and wouldnt a man in our world be ecstatic to have a hot woman so attracted to us they'll grope our behind?

I suppose there is that tiny minority of men that would raff off about consent, but that is definitely not the case for our boi Faust.

you forgot that this setting is not only gender roles reversed but also in a different time, way closer to the middle ages. In our world at that time, the woman would either be told to be grateful someone of higher standing is interested or somehow made to be the victim/a seductress. That being said, I absolutely wish for Faust to crush Astartre's hand and more because not only is she a pervert but also a fucked up scumbag who is fine with belittling, taunting and pissing all over someone mourning.

Why would she need to enter a convent if her sister becomes queen? I don't remember European nobles being forced to become monks on their older brother's ascension to the throne.

Yeah, her bangs covering the solar panel of a forehead threw me for a loop too.
That's why she looked so out of energy.

Page 9 doesn't seem right. Isn't Helga supposed to be telling Faust's horse (the big one) not to have its way with Princess Valiere's horse, Flugel (the little one)? It's admittedly confusing. There's nothing indicating why Helga mentioned Astarte in the last panel. You would expect some sound effect indicating the approaching forces or a frame of her viewpoint seeing a figures on the horizon. Oh I see it now! There's a tiny exclamation and then her and Faust's horse look in the same direction.
Flugel is Faust's horse, so yeah, the wording is a little off.

Not sure I would call 12 pages in "immediate". Especially since the first four pages' start with the mourning in the background, instead of the forefront like last chapter, followed up by a more neutral atmosphere as Faust returns and exchanges information with Helga before reporting to the princess.

I feel like the tone shift was actually very similar to Mulan's, they were still joking around until they reached the village and saw the carnage, then we get mostly serious until now

I mean, this feels more like the story was mostly from the second royal guard pov since the fight started and now its from everyone else's, before the death felt impactful and meaningful, it was someone dear to them that died and to these ppl not used to war it was unbearable, now we're seeing things as they are, this campain was a resounding success, only one death was a miracle and in everyone else's eyes, they should be celebrating, not crying their eyes out for one measly person

That one death was so meaningless to Astarte that groping his ass was far more important than even going to taunt her sister

Hell, even the beginning feels like its for a change of pov, we're following Helga, all the crying? All the sadness? thats all background noise, nothing to do with her, all that matters is her lord

In our modern world (and even then depending on the country...), but doubtful in a comparable time period in our past.

Hopefully now Polidoro will get some focus
He will be involved in the story for quite a bit now. Upcoming chapter is about his mother.
a weird turn for Astarte's character
Well, we've known she's a lecher and she doesn't care for Valiere at all. This chapter is just showing how they are with each other in private. Astarte is kind of an asshole to everyone throughout the story. Her poor treatment of others comes from her position (Duke), her military successes, and her personal ability (meaning she is a highly capable individual, likely superhuman). She kind of thinks she can do no wrong.

That one death was so meaningless to Astarte that groping his ass was far more important than even going to taunt her sister
Astarte and Valiere are cousins, I believe. Anastasia is Valiere's older sister.

IMO you’re normally out of the throne race if you become a clergy in a monastery. On the other end, it also minimizes any reason for any contenders to kill you if you do, as long as you stay a monk/nun, so it could be her last option to stay alive without a possible, highly-intimate encounter with the local himbo ninja who’s about to penetrate you while penetrating you.

It would be so she's out of the picture, and doesn't have children who could claim the throne. It's not necessarily historical to Europe, but I could imagine this type of thing happening in japan back in the day, or at least in one of those cool samurai movies, but I have no idea.
