True, but the MC adjusted a light magic - better said most likely a healing magic that clears of negative status effects.
So instead of "manipulating feelings" it is probably better said that he created a magic to "improve the resistance against bad feeling inducing status effects".

The main issue is that if there is a healing magic that can increase resistance to bad feelings then there most likely is also a black / curse type magic that can manipulate feelings for real.

Well, at least he isn't an old geezer on the inside. He died young on earth. Maybe around the age of an older teenager?
