Great chapter. Honestly when Zoe was first starting to take a role as a love interest to Lucas I was kinda worried that it would go the route of more tropey manga where the MC gets an infantile babe as a girlfriend to be a sort of non-threatening sex object, but this chapter among others has shown she's far from that. The author is clearly aware that Zoe has an odd role as a love interest and last chapter we saw Lucas is keenly aware of how weird it is as well when he uses it as a way to gross out the aristocrat girl that was hitting on him.

Her character and her relationship to Lucas is appropriately nuanced and something both of them are figuring out as their characters develop. It's cool and unfortunately rare in action manga to have a female character with a complex inner world that's given narrative respect.

Ah I see. So the reason Lucas can not escape the battlefield is because he's choosing to stay and kill Garland but without a doubt will change his mind in the end and save the Garland instead. Thus, Lucas makes an enemy of both sides and can not escape. Ever since I see the Garland being just a little girl, I know there will be some switching sides happen.

I'm also surprised the Pope didn't ask Poppy to assassinate Udo. Her power and personality are suitable for that role. The rest of the Rami team all favor Lucas now except for Poppy and Oscar

page 36: So much for asking for consent
How much do we bet on Udo getting off screened?
Also I wonder if Coura wants to take the (somewhat toxic) Big Sis role for Lucas?

I thank you for your labours, TL! Not the greatest translation, but fast and good enough. Enjoy the holidays!
Can't wait for the official releases. This one is absolutely going onto my shelf.
Zoe is absolutely a peak character. Her development these last few chapters has been great. It's interesting to see her childlike pov start to take advantage of her fully developed brain, now that she's beginning to work past her old traumas - but will she be able to continue to protect her beloved as she comes to understand the full weight of her present actions? Good stuff.

also, lol at the one guy going all shawshank in the poocalypse. What was going on in his mind, I wonder?

You did good Zoe... better than most people can even start... the pain will come, but stay strong, but that pain is a necessity, but don't give up.

And she started to mark her property

Man... so happy Udo escaped that whistle fucker.

Exactly this.

With the reveal of the time travel aspect, and putting Akira's holier-than-thou attitude in perspective, I came to understand... this is a "parody" of an isekai.

It isn't obvious or even the main point, but I think that the authors truly despise the common troupes of isekais, the overpowered MC with higher morals, the objectified "love" interests, and the simplification of ideologies.

This is their "fuck you" to those troupes.

If something happens to Udo I will go back to the past and kick the holiness out of the pope myself

A few chapters ago, Akira stated that his foresight had started to fail since Lucas' flowering. And now, the Pope is also wondering whether this has to do with the tower's predictions failing. What only we readers know/remember is that the voice is what caused Lucas' flowering, because of the "vision" it led him to. Whoever sent him that vision did so to trigger the flowering.

Although it was said that Lucas can "see sounds", the only sounds he's been seeing were the ones he himself produced. Why would these be any different ? His sound constellations are able to directly communicate not only motor intents, but also feelings and desires. It would not be a stretch for them to be able to communicate memories as well.

Moreover, the matter of multiple timelines competing for actualization is growing ever more prominent, with at least two characters able to interfere directly with the flow of time, and the whole setting being the result of interferences from the future.

I'm calling it now: the source of that "voice" was Lucas from another timeline.
