Idk I think it was just Moe being so cool saving him on the previous page that Ichi(hara lol) joked that he might fall for her xD
Like telling someone who's just done you a solid that "I could kiss you for that!" doesn't literally mean the other party should commence to pucker up.

Damn even I felt the social axniety when Ichikawa got pulled by the Senpai guy. Also no shit everyone knows when both of them are always alone together in the library.
Not everyone. Chii is the obvious example of not understanding the subtext, but Kanzaki is also in that camp at this point, while someone like Adachi is really slow in assembling the pieces he has.

Is no one going to point out she invited him in after saying "I like her" full well knowing that Yamada was in there too and they would see each other?
@Mervina It seemed a bit like a test. If he went in with her he'd see Yamada and have to explain why he went to another girls home late on New Years. However, Norio doesn't seem like the kind of author that does that stuff so maybe Moe did want Ichi to see Yamada which is much cuter.
I think the simple explanation is that Moe knew that Ichikawa wouldn't agree to go inside, and she was just messing with him.

Damn, the original chapter is awesome, but the anime rework made it incredibly better!

Ichi standing up for himself was magnificent!!!
Yeah, in the anime adaptation, the additional dialogue made Ichikawa a lot more resolute. It makes the writing more believable, because it gives more reason for Moeko to pull Ichikawa out of this situation, and Ichikawa being so strong in this situation (combined with the flashbacks to his moments with Yamada) makes for very good emotional build up to him telling Moeko that he likes Yamada.

I think they also could have done this change for better pacing of the first season – this is part of the penultimate episode, so something strong like that could be useful near the end, pacing-wise. It might also be kind of compensating for Ichikawa's character development, to account for manga material, which wasn't adapted (if any).

The extra dialogue also builds up Pickup-pai to seem even more of a douchebag for his White Day talk with Adachi and Ichikawa.
