@Koni Ok, if this accomplishment and rising popularity of the manga doesn't incite Japanese Animation Studios to pick this up and make an anime, I don't know what will. This DESERVES an anime adaptation.

Personally, I'd rather have it not animated if getting it animated means:
- low budget shitty studio quality
- one season with s2 NEVER

Honestly I think that of all the manga who have been animated in the last few years, the only adaptation which was on par with the source material (if not even better) is Mob Psycho 100 (dagashi too, if only the second studio was in charge of s1 too). Because in these cases you actually get the feeling that they are doing a "real" anime, instead of a marketing campaign in the form of unconcluded single season anime.

@giolleau You have a point, it all comes down to what studio gets the rights to animate it and how dedicated they are to the source material. But I feel they would have enough content to do at least 2 Seasons at this point, if we're to assume they adapt 2-3 chapters per episode + 1 extra chapter (2 chapters x 12 episodes = 24 chapters adapted OR 3 chapters x 12 episodes = 36 chapters adapted).

However, the first few chapters of this manga are (in my opinion) not that great and are really rough to go through, only ever picking up around the chapter 20 mark. As a 12 episode anime adaptation, that would be around episode 7-10, which would be too late to draw people in due to the "3 episode rule". But yeah, I guess it really depends on the studio and people working on it to make it shine.

@MeganeR is Kyoto Animation still running? I thought the studio was destroyed beyond repair due to the arson attack. If it's still around I doubt it would still have the same quality as it once did.

Yeah, maybe the anime adaptation turns out to be bad and it sure hurts quite a bit when that happens to a particularly good manga but at the very least the existence of an anime means more sales for manga which, I think we can all agree, is very good.

i was just wondering how good would it be if this get an anime adaptation if we get to see everything in the manga but through the eyes of Anna that would make the anime unique in his own way and we have ichi side right here

@EcchiLove it was ranked relatively high in a poll in japan for top manga they want animated
Komi-san was #1 and that isnt getting animated soon (although i feel like plans are being made. its impossible for something like this to have this much traction and studios arent talking about it)
this manga was #4 or so. it got a live action but not an anime. but who knows.

@KingNova777 just a part of the studio was burnt down. not only is there more than one branch of kyoani, not all the staff died. Kyoani wasnt put out of service, its just that they had to seize operation for some time to fix the damages. they likely still did stuff in the other branch. like the kobayashi s2 and the violet evergarden movie (although i think that has been completed for over a year now)

Wow, this manga won something? Nice. Surely the competition was quite stiff, with some truly profound masterpieces in the running. Oh, 3rd place was that substanceless Homura-sensei manga. And the award is nothing more than a glorified ONLINE popularity poll. A worthless award, fitting for this series.

The series was previously a contender for the 13th Manga Taisho awards but lost to Tsubasa Yamaguchi's The Blue Period. The manga was voted #4 in AnimeJapan's poll of manga that readers most want to see turned into an anime, came in #4th in last year's Tsugi ni Kuru Web Manga Awards, was picked as #3 in the 2019 edition of Takarajimasha's Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga Is Amazing!) guidebook, #4 in this year's Tsutaya Comic Awards, and was a top recommended series by Japanese bookstore employees.

But of course these are all glorified online popularity polls that don't mean shit. I mean, what kind of up-and-coming manga wants to be popular with readers, anyway? Btw, the previous winner is another worthless series called Spy x Family, which is fitting I guess.

@KingNova777 The average page length for each chapter is like 10. How is it possible to stretch 3-4 volumes worth of content into 2 anime seasons?

Note that some of these nominations aren’t even user voted, like Kono Manga ga Sugoi or Manga Taisho. And if you wanna talk about competition, I’m pretty sure it’s also competing with the aforementioned Spy x Family in some of these awards as well. And if you wanna call Spy X Family worthless (I know you’re not, you’re being sarcastic), that series just won Tsutaya with competition being this manga, Gokushufudou, My Dress-Up Darling, and Shikimori-san, the last of which came in 5th place for the award BokuYaba just won. Guess those series are all apparently worthless to this guy, too. I feel bad for those fans.

Whats the schedule for translated chapters? So far I'm just checking every day, but there must be a more effective way.

@Cholland Well the manga is biweekly now (every other Tuesday) and we'll probably continue to have speed scans before Boredom's releases, so probably within 24 hours of the raws.
