You also confused middle school and high school again though. She's a third year trying to get into his high school, which wouldn't make sense if she was a high school student.

Yeah it really feels like it's written in short form Japanese where subjects are being left out (by the writer) and its left to interpretation by the reader.

Anime made a lot of changes to original story, order of events is completely different, and there are many new scenes as well.

Sasaki's photo in beach shop is one of them anime original additions, and I don't understand why they decided to spoil the reveal like this.
