So this is what Jeremy was referring to before, about Shuli taking a new lover one month after the Marquess passed. I imagine using that method tanked her reputation very quickly. Hopefully she makes real allies in this life.

So, am I reading page 6 right, the King/Emperor is the four kids Uncle. It said his sister the Queen, after mentioning Johannes?

That might explain why the King/Emperor supported the Stepmom in the past. As it would not be tough for Johannes to ask his brother-in-law to do this for him, in case of his death. Though, it also says something about Johannes's siblings where he has one decent one and a bunch of greedy money grabbers. Then again, it is tough to be greedy about a Marquis's inheritance when one is married to the King/Emperor.

Because for me that was unnecessary and the Eldest son could've handle it, he is smart, loves his siblings so unless the author wants to ship heroine and him in the futur?....

@Mangareader What I mean is she followed her mommy's advice and pretty much took on the mantle of being cold heated for the sake of survival, remember most of the relatives were all driven out, at the cost of being alienated, which really put her in the spot at the end. What the kids thought of her was irrelevant.

So, I'm confused. In the beginning I thought she was just married to protect the children but at the same time they also make it sound like the dad and her were lovers. This whole setup between her and the dad is confusing. Any chance anyone has spoilers?
