I disagree with the majority of the comment section here.

No real justice has triumphed here, since in my opinion the actual threat is the utter ease with which the entire noble crowd throws whomever they want to the wolves. Playing judge, jury and executioner.
Before Scarlet took possession of Constance everyone in the crowd was ready to go along with a rash accusation despite several nobles knowing the truth. Only after a complete reversal and thorough dissection of the bullshit spouted by the real culprit Pamela does the nobility shift its focus on her instead. And suddenly everyone acts sweet toward Constance as if a few minutes ago they weren't ready to tear her apart. It even goes as far as having Pamela presumingly put through some hellish torture ending with her death after having safely escorted Constance off the premises. You know, for shits and giggles, because they can finally get their murder-boner on again after ten years since they did the same with Scarlet.

tldr; Constance is innocent, Pamela gets an over-the-top punishment, the nobles are the real evil here. Yay for justice?

She's not dead, the flaming shoes was a metaphor/reference to the brothers Grimm. She doesn't get out unscathed though and has to spend months recuperating back at her family's territory to recover. The rumours say that her hair turned white from the stress and pain.
