Hero is a good guy, but I do honestly hope that this doesn't turn at the end into the galaxy level OP MC losing to his best friend because he is the hero and "the hero always wins", it'd be really disappointing

From the novel, this chapter explain too litle about the problem.
There is many factor who leed to fired MC.
1) MC was Phoenix childhood friend
- Phoenix, before being a hero was mistreated and only have MC
- When Phoenix obtain the hero job, everyone became kind to him, that repulse him and make him stick more with MC
- In the party Phoenix talk almost exclusively to MC
2) MC hide his power
- MC for some reason hide his power, when his comrades ask about his ability his dodge the question
3) Black mage aren't fit for TV
- This jobs is for TV show, jobs with flashy move are popular, the other aren't. Black mage isn't a job with flashy and popular style.

This is the reason why MC was fired but it's mainly Phoenix fault to hide behind MC and never befriends his teamates, their are all jaleous.

They are just pushing their failures on a guy who has left, theree is no reason to bring Remmé into the conversation at this point he is gone and not part of their failure. All of them except the hero and the newcomer seems to miss this fact, they still don't realize that they just suck at doing their jobs.

that because in the novel this conversation is in 3 times.

First, teamates trash talk about MC. That not logic, now he is gone why they still like that. Then they said even if MC was competent they still wanted kick him out. Newbie understand MC wasn't fired because of he's incompetence.

Second, between two donjon. They realised their level went down and newbie save them again and again but they don't think of MC absence. They think everything will go fine after a while. Phoenix have his flashback about his past and why he glue MC.

Third, after the donjon, Newbie initialise the talk and propose the hypotesis where MC was competent XD

That funny because even if they level go down, they refused to imagine MC doing something for the team.
The archery was know to always strike vitals points, now she hardly touch her target. The warrior use a heavy weapon and flashy move no one can imitate but now the enemie no long in his sword way.
They said a black mage only do 5%, 10% at most in debuff but MC was doing 50% debuf from the begining.

I prefer the novel in this point because they find fault at everyone.
Phoenix because he never grow up hide behind MC like a child.
Teamates because they blame MC and choose they jalousy instead of the team.
MC because he hide his power and compensate the lack of skill of teamate without tell them where are there blunder to let them grow up.
