I originally stumble upon this manga because a site says that it's similar to overlord. Do anyone know of a manga(fantasy preferably) where the mc is a faction leader like overlord?

Overlord is my top 1 japanese isekai, hard to best that one, but I recommend some others:

* https://mangadex.org/title/34605/release-that-witch - this one I've read the 1495 chapters of the novel and it's amazing, but I've never read the manhua to get a grasp of its quality

Not faction leading but still relevant to world building, kind like MCs of RPGs:

Fight Class 3. They are not that similiar as a genre but in my opinion its foreshadowing, art and story greatly exceeds ''The New Gate''.

@Warcrors and @dsquare682 this manga started out good but became boring halfway. there're little to no goals, like it became slice of life of walking god in mmorpg isekai while he flex and hoping others to ignore him. and it kinda sucks at that. and the me-and-my-girlfriend-past arc is boring too.

@Anivia well, if you want some new titles, I can always point out what's better in my opinion than this manga but it might be not everyone's taste.
this list are some of isekai and fantasy troupe i'm following and why it's better
- nozomanu fushi no boukensha (it got goals and the story told how to achieve it slowly)
- the wolf won't sleep (more immersive adventure and better flexible art style, and better story as well)
- tondemo skill de isekai hourou meshi (if it's slice of life with OP power, be more consistent and clear about it)
- Honzuki no Gekokujou (better story by miles)
- Koushaku Reijou no Tashinami (it's power play in politic and got a lot of drama, and the author being consistent in it)
- Isekai Izakaya Nobu & Gen (better slice of life and no weird flex)
- Kumo desu ga nanika (how isekai should have been)
heck i even enjoyed reading scamloli (saving 80,000 gold in isekai) than this nowadays
but i prefer to read manhwa and historical manga now. like, I enjoy wide range of theme, as long as the author consistent in it.

Manhwa:
- Tower of God
- Noblesse
- Solo leveling
Manga:
- Kingdom
- Berserk
- Blade of the immortal
- Vagabond
- Spice and wolf
- Akatsuki no yona
- Ares
In my opnion, all of these are top notch. Ares kinda has bad art, but the story is really good. Personally, I didn't like Vagabond since it wasn't fun for me, but I can tell that It's a very well written manga.

@Anivia thanks for your suggestion, but unfortunately i already read those titles
in my opinion, though, tower of god and noblesse (it feels too much like Bleach, is it just me?) kinda suck. it started out good but spiraling down in later chapters
for isekai manhwa that i still read are Dimensional Mercenary, Survival Story of Sword King (it kinda almost meh todays), Dungeon Reset
and rpg-like/fantasy are Solo Leveling, Moonlight Sculptor, and Omniscient Reader Viewpoint.
but nowadays, most of manhwa i read are delinquent themed like Weak Hero, Free Throw, How to Fight, Supernova, and so on.
for historical manga that still ongoing the only titles i read nowadays are mixed timeslip ones like Sengoku Komachi Kurotan, Sousei no Taiga, Drifter, or Record of Ragnarok (not really historical, but using historical figure)

honorable mention for isekai, or fantasy is The Beginning after The End. dunno what type it is, manhwa, manhua, webmanga, or comic, but it's superb

I was hoping I'd be able to suggest good manga to you but it seems that you've read them. imo, Tower of god was great at season 2, right now I agree that its spiraling down. For noblesse, I stopped reading when there was around 100 chapters left to catch up to it. It kinda got boring, but I'll definitely finish it for the sake of it
