they literally dont have enough resources to explain who the hell the other player is which is important for the story. do you really think they have enough pages for unnecessary "went to japan and hanging out npc arc"?

Wow I was so sure based on what I heard about the ending being bad they really were gonna send Carol over or something. I think I'm fine with this ending, without digging into volume 3 of the LN. This ending left some threads unresolved but all in all, the dude actually seems to be pretty well adjusted now, and I can't ask for more than that.

Very likely it was changed so the manga could be ended early. For the true ending and reveals, you need to read LN Vol 3.
