I reread the entire story every couple updates and keep a light eye out for other people's conclusions I myself didn't draw. The take you're pushing back on is the most pervasive that isn't supported by the text.* People will truly die on any hill to pity insecure, dirtbag dudes.
I reread the WN from time to time because Remilia The Cold-Blooded Monster > * and frankly her casual, "It’s not a war crime if they deserve it" just tickles my happy place.
I circle back around to the manga when a new chapter comes out.

Tagging is shit, so it's not "fair". There are stories tagged as romance where the main couple don't actually become a couple at any point, or tragedy because the MC has one parent and the other is vaguely described as having died or left in a sentence or two.

So if I think it's gay if one guy hugs another, I can tag it as yaoi, under roughly the same parameter.

You described a love triangle. According to that definition, any love triangle that does not end up with a threesome is NTR or a complete wash, because someone is going to lose.
Well, obviously! At the logic we're at Yaoi is any time a piece of media 1) has two male characters 2) that talk to each other 3) about anything other than good ol' 100% heterosexual American football. Yeehaw! 🦅 😂

To be fair there are stories that are tagged as NTR despite the characters not being in a romantic relationship. e.g. childhood friend, crush, sibling? (don’t ask).
I think for some it’s more about someone losing the person they love to someone else rather than the actual relationship status itself. Using that parameter I’d say this falls well within the use of NTR.

Then you mean it's NTR because Emi lost Will and all of her beloved friends at the first chapter, right?

Will already dumped Emi, so at this point, yeah, he might be broken-hearted, but not NTR-ed here. Sometimes people used the NTR word just wrong, I would suggest using the word "angst" instead in this case.

I honestly feel so bad for him since he was charmed, brainwashed, and manipulated into turning on Remilia by that delusional sociopath. Without Pina they probably would have solved everything happily and had their future together or atleast he wouldn't have been humiliated like this
Others have said this but if you’ve looked into the explanations for their behavior + his inner thought process, he ALWAYS knew Remi wasn’t truly guilty. Despite that, he literally confessed to being a witness of a crime… which did not happen. Even the damned king knew that his son wanted to knock her down a peg, not actually “correct” her wrongs.

Isn’t that, in itself, insane to think about? Someone who finds your attempted (alleged) murder not to be the main focal point, but rather their ego instead?

We even saw how he reacted when the second prince earned rightful attention for his political activity + Remi’s younger self who had to apologize for being better than him. If you look deeply into his character, his behavior has always been in line with his character.

It was a guy named Romano, one of the servants in the Graupner dukedom (Remilia's family) Remilia's bodyguard. It's one of many instances where Pina whored herself out to get people on her side. This Romano spread a rumor that Remilia made a pass at him and when he refused, she brought up and threatened his family to force him into serving her.

The same servants she bribed and bumped uglies with were the ones feeding her info on Remilia as well as sneaking out some of her possessions. It's how she managed to get Remilia's handkerchief for that fake altercation in the courtyard.

The reason Pina was so insistent on anal sex was to preserve her virginity for Will.
Damn. That's super fucked up, but also about as hilarious as expected. So, in the novel, did Remilia (or her knight - blanking on her name) happen to somehow get a recording of this or something?

Yeah, it's one of the recordings she collected with replay magic.

Sounds like I'll have to reread the beginning to get that, its been so long since their introductions and relevance haha

Note that the "didn't lose heart when she was without a single ally" and "gave it all for the world based on her beliefs" parts are characteristics of the "real Remilia", not merely the "Emi's Remilia" that she portrays. The first is undeniably accurate, and the second's context is a little skewed, but ultimately it was her beliefs (particularly her belief in "Emi's Remilia") that caused her to go to such extents.
So in essence, the parts he loves most about her are actually her, not just the role she plays for Emi's sake. I'm less certain about the "kind-hearted" bit. I think she's pretty decent (even if some of it was faked), but it's honestly really hard to tell. Remilia's excellent acting is portrayed very well.
yeah, but this Remilia was molded by Emi's love, which is good and show us how her learning about love could turn into a good person even a Saint, not just for how Emi would act, but for her revenge and would learn to be a better person, as how she cared for the orphans.

I would say the person that got closer to see actual Remilia was the dwarf king/queen, as she forged her armor, she perceived her BS, but acknowledged her abilities and that she could acomplish saving the world, the sharing of drinks felt like a buddy buddy moment.

I agree completely. Frankly, I was playing devils advocate a bit to try and explain why people sometimes misuse words to describe certain kinds of situations from an emotional standpoint that could otherwise be difficult to explain. When you think of the word NTR it usually triggers certain emotional response and gives an idea of what a character is feeling/going through despite it not actually applying to them. And yes, by using that thought process you could use it to describe what happened to Emi too.
So for things that can only be described in a single word, which is the point of tags, they use tags that are incorrect to the story but have an emotional similarity that gives an idea of what happens in the story.

Personally I don’t like it, in fact it can be pretty detrimental (e.g. twitters history of flippantly using -ists and -phobes to describe people). But I understand that it’s just a thing that people do.

Everyone  says this, but they haven't read the WN where everything is from her perspective. She just as cold, ruthless, savage, unrelenting, and unforgiving as she has always been.
i have said this before, but nobody gets it:
Remilia is a monster- but in this iteration she is Emi's monster. That's the only difference.

Sigh, stay of the ganja man, you're hallucinating, I've never said that the guys forged any evidence, Pina forged a whole lot of evidence, tricked witnesses, staged events and spread rumours and the manga doesn't even hint at the guys knowing that the evidence, witnesses and events are falsified (the manga supports this).

I'm not bothering to respond to the rest since I've covered it multiple times and/or your interpretation of characters and events in the manga is tainted by your foreknowledge from other sources since it differs from the manga.

I agree with you that people are downplaying how much a potion that makes you regard someone favorably even if they'd normally annoy the shit out of you can be.

However, I think you're missing that the potion is simply "make them like Pina more," not "force them to be assholes to others."

For example, if Pina tells them to stab a puppy to death, there's nothing compelling them other than..feeling slighty bad if Pina throws a tantrum that they didn't immediately stab a puppy to death. Seriously irl if someone I cared about told me to do something awful my response would be "uh bad joke," and then "...are you okay, is your blood sugar low? wtf no I'm not doing that come on, lets make sure you got your meds" versus "YES I WILL INDULGE IN ATROCITIES AT YOUR COMMAND MY LOVE"

While they might have abnormally high tolerance for Pina, it doesn't mean they were forced into a scheme to ruin Remilla's life via public humiliation (keep in mind if it weren't for OG Remilla taking over, Emi's whole life and future would've been ripped to shreds at story start). Seriously, it's possible to like two people who don't like each other without deciding to nuke the life of one of them, see any story ever about people caught between spouse and in-laws.

To further the analogy, lets say you have a Ride or Die Bestie and the Love of Your Life. Unfortunately they hate each other, and despite your attempts to mediate, communicate etc you're told its time to pick one or the other. You decide you gotta stick with Bestie and thus break up with the Love (now ex). When you do this do you:

A: Message them you two need to talk, go somewhere private and regretfully tell them this isn't going to work out and you hope they go forward in life as a better person (since here you've started to belive Bestie's claims this person might be a bit of an asshole)

or

B: Decide to pretend everything is alright for months, until ex-Love's college graduation where they're giving the valedictorian speech is happening, steal the mic from them to scream about how they're the worst person ever and hijack the projector to show photoshopped images of them murdering puppies and kittens? Oh you also decided to email these to all the grad schools/employers they applied to in an active effort to ruin ALL their future prospects?

I don't blame OGMLs for being overly tolerant of Pina. I blame them for being assholes to people who aren't Pina--mainly Emi!Remilla here. Liking someone isn't an excuse to be cruel to others even if the person you like asks you pretty please to be an asshole.

One of my fav things is that Angel never met Emi. Even if she was acting as "Emi's Remilia", the person he fell for was still Remilia, unlike the bozo quartet, who all loved Emi (unbeknownst to them).

It is honestly not suprising but also disappointing that this falso take appears AGAIN AND AGAIN. People and the ability to read and understand doesnt mesh with each other anymore.

Did you read the Story and Comments?
How often was it stated that they are NOT brainwashed and totally able to judge and control what they do?

So how does your false take appears here yet again?
I observe and I react. There's no such thing as a "false take" you absolute dingus.

Firstly, this take exists because it's simply a more interesting analysis than you're proposing. Secondly, I would argue that there is no place in the story where the potion is explained in enough detail to disprove my take anyway.

How often does the story explain that the potion in combination with the star maiden ability simply rises the affection the people have for her. Its basically as long she isnt totally hated, people will like her. THATS IT, no brainwashing whatsoever to make them act differently towards Remilia and others. That was said at least several times.
AND HOW MANY TIMES do people and the story state that they are 100% aware of what they doing, intelectually and morally. They were never influenced or coerced into doing these things to Emi. They choose to do this to put themselves above or next to her, because Emi was too perfect in their eyes.

A more "interesting" analysis that ignores the facts is still wrong. It is the same as: "I think if the USA would win the world championship of soccer would be more interesting so I start stating it as a fact." or "Hey it would be more interesting if Batman is in secret the true supervillain and just arrests the other villains, so that they dont hinder his plans."
You can call them more interesting all you want, but that still makes them wrong.
Therefore if the story establishes the fact and states multiple times that they are not brainwashed and did all of it of their own accord and the potion or rather Pina just gave them an opportunity because of the lies. You can cry and argue that your ideas are more interesting, but they still dont belong in this story. If you thing your Ideas are so much more interesting, write your own stories or fanfictions. That is where that would belong.
