I might not agree with everything he says or does, but Richard is still a legitimate scientist and that's nothing to scoff at. Calling him a moron might be a bit much. Still I get that people can be "stupid" at certain things. But then again, I haven't heard anything about him for a very long time...
But nevertheless, he's a good counter to the religious fanatics, right-wings and islam.

while that meme-er has his points he fails to take into account greatest successes: individualism. the western world didnt succeed because of tribes working together it succeeded because of an economic and government sense of individualism the more individualistic your nation the greater its success which is how america became a super power in the first place. as humanity grows obsessed with communalism, but lets just call it for what it is: communism, then we will fall back into our tribal ways since the family level is the only one where communism somtimes works

he is a doctor of philosophy. a subject thats almost completely subjective, with the exception of zoology all of his other degrees are honorary "i like you, have a degree" sort of stuff. so if he talks about the animal kingdom i will probably take him seriously other then that not really. Richard is to atheism what a bishop is to Catholicism, if you are looking to join the atheism belief or lack thereof then hes your guy but if you ascribe to another religion he is just a high profile apostate.
