Yep this is what I hate about Oscar in the novel. He can't clearly state what he wants and put in effort to oppose his sister. Seriously, this is the moment that I erased Oscar as the second ML in my head when reading the novel.

I do agree he's too kind but his kindness isn't a weakness. Who the f*ck are you? Did Ozai taught you that, Princess Azula? It's not his kindness and forgiving nature that holds him back, it's his naivety and softness like that of Tanjiro from Episode 1, and that's the thing he has to change. He shouldn't wear his heart on his sleeve without having to protect it. He needs to be more cautious around people, and know how to distinguish a friend to a foe. But I can't blame him completely either for that, considering his shitty environment. I have yet to see one adult that has guided him kindly and rationally in a healthy manner.

And don't even get me started with your bs of "family" here, sis. I apologize if I'm wrong but is it really the family you care about, or the household? If you are really doing this shit for his sake as well, you will consistently try to reach a compromise and communicate with him instead of having him follow you like a dog, and slapping him to submissiveness the moment he was trying to express himself. Hell, from how he's talking, he's probably walking on a leash his whole life! This poor boy doesn't deserve to be around toxic assholes! Ugh! I have so much to say! He's surrounded with scheming bitches, and he doesn't deserve one of them.

We don't see Oscar for a very long time

but Oscar isn't agree so they just keep him in his bedroom until their plan was finish but it fail. The duke family is arrested and Oscar tell testifies against his family, his was spare but demote at comoner.
He's only regret is to stay too passif before and his people have suffer because of it.
He's quite happy to not have any responsability now and live a simple life.
