@Soticoto She's a child, she thinks she's in pain and it's miserable and that's okay,
and I'm sure she feels hurt and anxiety from it and it's something she needs help with and someone to understand her,
but she's still not in real pain and still not miserable, at least not nearly to the boy's extent. And a lot of this girl's troubles are almost fully imagined. As she has lost very little and is only building her expectations on some faint sense of entitlement.
Saying the effects and outcome, even just on their characters and psyche, is the same, is a lie.
Your words are correct but only to an extent. Our imaginations only inflate and deflate pain to an extent, even that varying heavily depending on the trauma and perspective,
And it can go both ways, you can feel hurt and anxiety, to build up on really painful experiences as well. And there you can probably build up on your pain with your despair, much, much more.
Again, not to say anything about the girl, she seems otherwise sweet, just immature and ignorant, which of course, she's a kid, that's not unnatural.
And experiencing pain doesn't negate all pain, it just helps in resisting it, it's still painful I'm sure and still has a bad effect on the psyche, at least as a somewhat dull and somewhat pain and an irritable scar.
Some people do get overbearing about it sure, but it's not totally untrue, it is an overreaction, atleast disregarding mental illness, addiction and also depression to an extent, all of which can properly change the brain's chemistry and are all a different bag of tricks.
