Basically, the entire family has been lying to Masachika all these years. His dad wasn't romantically interested in that French diplomat (who we may get to here at some point) at all but had been continuing to spend most of his time in-country rather than abroad and had been doing so at the Suou compound and had continued his romantic relationship with his ex-wife while she's apparently been trying to recover from the severe emotional and psychological issues that lead her to abuse and neglect Masachika and physically assault her husband. Yuki has been covering for their dad by spending so much time at Masachika's place to keep him from noticing just how little his dad has been around.

Oh, and, obviously, Masachika is the only member of the family subject to that shitty old man's demand that he completely cut himself off from the house.
Beside all of it is it still enjoyable? the reading ._.

It's a different kind of story now, but I'm into world-building, deep-lore exploration and psychologically- driven stories just as much as I am fluffy ecchi romcom shenanigans, so it's still totally in my strike zone.

do you mind naming a manga that has this new kind of tone that you say so that I can decide to engage or not in reading it?
The COTE series would probably be where it leans into hardest (gradually, beginning with the third volume and absolutely covering itself with that stuff from the sixth book on).

I've purchased the first five volumes plus a book of side stories from Play Books. More fan-TLed EN releases can be found by clicking the Novel Updates button on the manga's main page here.
