It's....IT'S the first time I've seen the MC (not sui) being serious, not stuttering, and talking like that to the goddess who forced her blessings to him!!!

(Well maaaybee there was another scene on the main story that I don't remember but This one definetely gonna stay with me)

You go man!! That's the most courage I've ever seen from you!! lol

Mukouda didn't want that status boost or anything else from the Goddesses, he wanted to be left alone. Now he's on the hook for those offerings for the rest of his life, having to listen to the Goddesses bitching at him, watching him day and night and demanding more and more stuff and insisting he fixes their screwups while he tries to keep those blessings secret from anyone else.

@Lexy

There's a scene in the WN (not in the manga yet) where he tells off the Goddesses and says he won't make any more offerings to them if they don't agree to something. Mukouda is generally a go-along-to-get-along type but sometimes he does get fed up with some folks (he regularly calls Wind Goddess Ninril "Deplorable-sama" for example). As for him being protective of Sui-chan, that's nothing compared to how Uncle Feru reacts when he thinks some folks might hurt him (again from the WN).

@Nojay

Chapter 33
『At this occasion, it is Ninril-sama’s mercy after reading your thoughts of wishing for a god’s blessing, however, she cannot give the same blessing that I have. Regardless of that, if it is God’s Blessing (small), it is possible to grant you if you offer the other world’s sweets in the altar once a week』

You can insinuate that for the rest of the goddesses, but for Ninril that really isn't true.

Let's not act like he's getting scammed here, which is what you're making it sound like. The "trouble" he gets, if you can even call it that, is way less than the amazing benefits he's actually getting. That's my problem here, the MC thinks and acts as if he hasn't fucking broken the entire system and it comes off as either scummy or mega-delusional.

>insisting he fixes their screwups

I don't remember that happening, can you refresh my memory on that?

@Levanah he got minor benefits, which means more or less dick all till he got 3. They want sweets and booze, he just wants to relax. realistically, push come to shove, he doesn't need them, but they need him. that and if he didn't set a limit, they would constantly ask for more and more and at some point, its just to much for a weekly event.

I disagree. Status nullification "as long as it is not things that have instant death effects, or very powerful curses" to quote the translation is absolutely huge. People would pay billions for that kinda shit. I don't disagree with setting reasonable expectations for what he can offer, as I've said in my first post. I just don't like his whiny, penny pinching, hassled by every little thing attitude like he's not in a mutually beneficial relationship(that is massively tilted in his favor) with the gods and with his familiars. I consider that scummy behavior.

Sui is going to become Darwin in that episode of Gumball where he becomes a dictator and everyone just lets him cause he's so cute

@Levanah The benefits the goddesses get are way greater, though. MC is the sole provider of Earth-food they have, while he has several possible sources of blessings. If he lived a cautious life like he wished to since the beginning, with the status buffs from his Earth-food, it's also probable he would never need the blessing anyways. He keeps getting more demands, without getting anything more in return. That is scummy.

>That is scummy.

No. Hell no. Lifetime continuous payment of a few silvers a week for nigh invulnerability(which includes never getting sick, and never having to get dental) and an increase in magical abilities for is far from a scam. It is worth billions IRL, and certainly worth more than the gold coins MC will have to pay over a lifetime.

The only thing scummy about the transaction itself is the fact that the gods gave away ultra-rare blessings for a pittance.

@Levanah We're obviously not reading the same series. The initial deal was a few sweets (the first time was 4 different kinds) once a week, in exchange for a continued blessing. She then demanded more sweets after just a few days. (ch. 11-12 of the main series) In this chapter she already got one offering (p.2), he then started preparing more right away. She also got pissed off at Sui for taking something that wasn't even offered to her yet.

Changing the deal after the fact, and acting like a child when someone takes something (a limitless resource I might add!) that isn't even yours yet is SCUMMY as fuck.

@Levanah he's really not supposed to pay anything for the blessings. the gods gave blessings to others before (like feru) but they never asked for anything in return, they're to give them to people or beasts for free. (as stated in the original novel)
