@cor3zone That’s true that his food does give great buffs. However even if MC became decent at fighting the buffs still won’t allow him to contend with all these high-end monsters Feru forces him to encounter.
Learning self-defense is admirable but even that’s useless when your OP wolf bro takes you hunting dragons when you aren’t a ‘chosen’ one.
MC is a support unit more than anything and a realist that knows his limits.
THIS.
People can't seem to shut the fuck about MC being a "coward".. when a REAL coward wouldn't even
dare bargain with or joke around with an absurdly-powerful being like Fenrir the way Mukouda does all the time.
That would actually be the noble from an earlier chapter. The one who was obviously too scared (or maybe just too lazy) to meet the Fenrir in-person and instead sent a spokesperson to try to take advantage of the Fenrir through MUKOUDA instead of directly addressing the beast itself that is capable of speech & reason.
Also, Mukouda in some earlier chapters DID try to get better at fighting in that dungeon.. even when that scenario was the equivalent of teaching someone to swim by throwing them into chaotic whitewater rapids.
Though, in this chapter where MC (even with a barrier, which isn't even a guaranteed lifeline) is forced to go up against not one Wyvern.. but a whole damn FLOCK of these very high-end monsters.. then a more correct analogy would be teaching someone to swim by throwing them into one of
these things:
Oh yeah, by the way these are really fucking terrifying hazards of fluid dynamics in water (along with whirlpools and "Delta P").
Though.. even then you'd probably have better chances of surviving
that than being gung-ho and trying to recklessly enter some of the near-impossible fights MC has been thrown into so far. Something likely only S-ranked (and maybe A-ranked) adventurers could possibly directly participate in.
