@JackofSpades261 He doesn't have a valid reason for it tho. In fact he has 2 extremely valid reasons not to be such a pussy. He doesn't need to be a gung ho alpha male but him being such a submissive coward all the time at the mere hint of conflict while he has 2 overpowered bodyguards who would never let anything happen to him just doesn't make any sense.

That first page caught me off guard. A sight of a slime trying to fly with slime wings, it's just outrageously cute. >ω<

"too much fried shit"

Y'all do remember this was a single man living alone from our current times yeah? He's not the greatest chef ever, of course he knows a ton of fried dishes, they're the easiest ones to prepare.

It is such a weird thing that people complain about MC being scare of literal monster. The wyvern is the size of dinosaur, can break stone wall, poisonous, and fast. The adventurers were scare of them. Da fuck you think an office worker gonna react to that. "But he got a Fenrir" that is a battle junkie and can't be everywhere at once, and doesn't remembered to slap the barrier on everytime. He did in fact almost die this chapter. "He should get use to the dangerous world by now" I want you to look up what happen to soldiers coming back from prolonged exposure to war and see how they are "used to it". Dangerous shit doesn't stop being scary, this is not your kirito power fantasy. You can learn to swallow your fear, but it does not goes away.

i wish there's more cooking stuff other than japanese food.... 😟
variety would be good but i imagine he wouldn't be familiar with it as much as a regular ex salary man unless his net grocery skill has a 'special' on diff ingredients (he did make neopolitan once tho that's basically a Japan-ified version of spaghetti tho it would be interesting if he met other chefs and traded recipes)

@cor3zone That’s true that his food does give great buffs. However even if MC became decent at fighting the buffs still won’t allow him to contend with all these high-end monsters Feru forces him to encounter.

Learning self-defense is admirable but even that’s useless when your OP wolf bro takes you hunting dragons when you aren’t a ‘chosen’ one.

MC is a support unit more than anything and a realist that knows his limits.
THIS.

People can't seem to shut the fuck about MC being a "coward".. when a REAL coward wouldn't even dare bargain with or joke around with an absurdly-powerful being like Fenrir the way Mukouda does all the time.

That would actually be the noble from an earlier chapter. The one who was obviously too scared (or maybe just too lazy) to meet the Fenrir in-person and instead sent a spokesperson to try to take advantage of the Fenrir through MUKOUDA instead of directly addressing the beast itself that is capable of speech & reason.

Also, Mukouda in some earlier chapters DID try to get better at fighting in that dungeon.. even when that scenario was the equivalent of teaching someone to swim by throwing them into chaotic whitewater rapids.

Though, in this chapter where MC (even with a barrier, which isn't even a guaranteed lifeline) is forced to go up against not one Wyvern.. but a whole damn FLOCK of these very high-end monsters.. then a more correct analogy would be teaching someone to swim by throwing them into one of these things:

Oh yeah, by the way these are really fucking terrifying hazards of fluid dynamics in water (along with whirlpools and "Delta P").

Though.. even then you'd probably have better chances of surviving that than being gung-ho and trying to recklessly enter some of the near-impossible fights MC has been thrown into so far. Something likely only S-ranked (and maybe A-ranked) adventurers could possibly directly participate in.

@deltarayedge same boat with you. I just want to the MC show bit courage and try to understand that he doesn't live in Japan anymore.
Agreed. Though.. that's more of an issue with the story's events than the MC (Mukouda) himself. Plot for now seems to be more comedy-driven than anything else.

Actually give the guy a reasonable combat scenario to get good first and not ultra high-level opponents that would send most actual non A/S-rank adventurers running like Usain Bolt. Honestly if he wasn't scared and successfully fighting in these near-impossible fights he's getting thrown into.. then Mukouda would just become another dime-a-dozen MC with unrealistic psychology and badly-written plot armor. Would MUCH rather have him as he is now instead of another stupid bland MC in plot-clad armor with a harem of women chasing after him.

Actually, that one time they were in the dungeon MC actually did quite well before running out of magic.. despite being a total novice in combat being thrown into a straight-up zerg rush with only his weak undeveloped magic as a weapon.
