dislike this mc, he treats sui way better than fenrir, all because he cant wrap his head around that this is a combat world. instead he gets heads over heels about how cute sui is, and screams at fenrir to not do anything combat related all day, including basic combat training.

should just mature up, accept the lessons, then go back to cooking

maybe he would have gone the way of merchant if he hadnt met fenrir, but he'd just be hiring bodyguards during trade like he did in chapter 1-2. Unless one really believes he'd have stayed in a single town.
so really he has a problem with easy killing, if he partied with some 4 man human bodyguards party that went half dead each trip, he'd never complain for some very "de-constructable" reasons

you get isekai'd into a shitty medieval fantasy land, behave like it and stop pretending ur playing FFDQDnDMH in your living room

I think it's because the MC got to meet and contract with the Fenrir way too early, that's why instead growing from failure and fear for life he just depends on the Fenrir, that's why he's quite a weakling both outside and inside. Think about it, would you learn to fix your own car after a crash when there's plenty of mechanics near you? Of course not, unless there's absolutely no one you can rely to do that, you wouldn't want to do that yourself, even more so if that mechanic themselves offer to do that for you. The MC might've grown if he didn't meet with the Fenrir and forced to survive by himself, as you might've learned to fix your own crashed car if there's no mechanic around.

I dont care about his fenrir dependence.

He just tries too hard to force japanese morals on fenrir and sui but gives sui a pass most of the time for being cute, he reeks of japanisekaiprotag through and through. Because fenrir kills too easily and "that's bad", but if he were to hire a party to protect him he'd never treat them badly or act scared around them even if they lost battles, as that's more "gamery" or "fair" to his japanese values. He should just take fenrir's self defense classes and either stop wimping or whine harder, not this half-assed behaviour.

This isnt related to how fenrir practically forced the contract on him, he never shows discontent over that directly. You could easily make a case it's done subtlely tho.

Fenrir, sui and the goddesses are solid characters (not annoying).

Mukouda knows he isn't in Japan any more -- there are monsters and bandits that will kill him everywhere he looks, it not like Japan where the only real danger to anyone is from Truck-kun. It's not a game world, dead is dead and he doesn't get to respawn, he's dead forever. Showing "courage" is a fast way to get killed in this world, especially when he's not a Hero and he's got meat-shields like Fer and Sui.

Mukouda is a 27-year-old office worker, not a high-school kid with delusions of immortality (see the three other gullible idiots he was Summoned with). He started with only a single Skill and he's managed to survive and thrive because of that plus a middling ability to cook decent food and a lot of luck. Having him dashing into the fray and waving a sword around incompetently would make for a rather short manga.

In fact according to the web novel, later on he does actually run into a fight and wave his sword around incompetently. Hilarity ensues.

There are lots and lots of isekai stories where the Summoned person arrives in the other world, gets taught to use a sword and is facing up to the level 1000 Demon Lord by chapter 3. I like this manga simply because Mukouda isn't one of them, it's more like reality than those chuuni cut-and-paste shonen fight-fests.

@Nojay I don't mean that way. I just want to Mukuoda get over it about common things in his previous world, especially how the way he thought.
What I see is Mukouda think he is normal, just everyone is weird. The people talk about the fight, kill the monster, etc and Mukuoda thinks they are weird. So it seems he still keeps his common previous world.

Sui is literally more dangerous then the Marvel SHIELD defense system. Automatic homing and impact absorber? F**ing genocide

Our baby boy Sui draining the blood directly from the severed neck is something I wish I never have to see.

@Nojay Well appart from being cautious (if you like to call it that way), you have to admit that he is kind of dumb. Even though he was told the fenrir is the most powerful beast (with the dragon), he won't trust his barrier even when facing goblins.
Look at his stupid reaction when adventurers are happy after he defeated the Wyverns. He his shocked that they are relieved they didn't have to fight monsters that could kill them easily, even after seeing the injured adventurers. How can you not expect that? He is supposed to be 27 but has a 10 yo mentality.
Even though he knows that it's a dangerous world he doesn't train at all (even just to be able to protect himself). So why does he even accompany his familiars to fight? It sometimes feels like his only purpose is to fill the empty space on the pages, since he is so useless.

@U235 i agrre with most of what you said but The protagonist is definitely not useless. Even though he does not have strong direct combat skills, the fact that he can make a powerful beast follow his orders is part of his strength.

In addition his market is an amazing ability, he actively chooses not to use it.

Will he come to a point where he'll actively try to learn combat? Just curious because of possible worst-case scenario that he gets separated
