Tbh I cannot fucking imagine that. If the guy that assaulted me wasn't already long dead I'd be very tempted to remedy that situation.

I think the theme the author is going for -- and do NOT read this as me defending it -- is that Fio doesn't truly "become" a woman until having a man bring it out of them. To be fair, I'd seen more than my fair share of erotica written by women for female audiences exploring that liminal space between masochism and role-defining.
Thing is, you usually know what you're getting into BEFORE choosing to read one of those stories. "Okay this story obeys p0rn logic" -- whereas this is mostly presented as an adventure story. (incidentally content warnings also go a long way to informing a would-be reader)
Incidentally as to something Amy brought up -- I wish this could go without saying, but rape realistically is never about lust or romance. It's a crime of power and violence. And it isn't even about gender politics, getting ahead of that right the hell now: I've known male and female survivors alike with both male and female attackers. It's terrifying, not sexy for
any of them.
TBH the rape thing is more adjacent to my biggest criticism of this manga: the TS genre's best quality with gender bending protagonists is that you can
bridge gender empathy gaps. Bring us all closer together through at least one perspective character. Instead of that, this first chapter sure seems to revel in the idea that women by default are petty, cruel and super thirsty. And very very scary. That we eventually wind up in "yay for assault!" town doesn't seem like a very long roadtrip.
