For Holo the only way she was ever going to be free was if the world thought she was dead. It sucks for her sister and her family, but there isn't much else she could've done that would've kept her safe and prevented the risk of her escape falling apart.

The moment Holo tries to get word to her sister that she's still alive, even if the letter/messenger isn't intercepted by potentially malevolent forces and reaches its destination safely, Radimeria will 100% come crashing through the country to get her back, as evidenced by the way she acted merely when faced with Weiss prior to this chapter.

She would not have taken Holo's request for a peaceful, normal existence lying down and would have trampled over her sister's wishes without a second thought, given the way she was before.

It absolutely sucks, and for both of them. Holo clearly still loves her sister, but she had to escape her situation and life, and this was the cleanest way to do it. And Radimeria was very justified in her wrath and worry.
Luckily, she got her reunion, and she's accepted (for the moment) what Holo did and why. It remains to be seen if Holo is truly safe where she's at now that another member of the royal family knows the truth, but hopefully Radimeria will carry her secret, and things will remain stable-enough for the short term so Weiss can focus on Lily's education arc.

yea i get that, but i feel like she could've also just asked mc at any point to deliver a letter to her (or really sneak a letter back to her), maybe not a month after the kidnapping, but sometime after she adjusted to her new life and the panic has died down. But ig tbf i don't remember how often mc and her converse

Ehhhh, the whole premise is shaky from the start anyways. If you have the power to subdue and kidnap Holo, you could have just killed her, so if the goal is killing her, there's no reason to go through the trouble of kidnapping her. So realistically, the assumption should be that she's alive. Initially you might expect being asked for a ransom, but one never materialized either. So she's out there, presumably subject to the whims of some evil person, they should have been turning the entire kingdom upside down this whole time, looking for her

the way see it:

translator uploads new chapter, allows older chapter to be here in MD -> I have to visit the translator's site to get my fix every time it gets updated -> they get traffic to their website -> everybody wins

best of all, if the chapters have to get removed from MD, it means the chapters will still be available on the translators site.
is it that bad you need to visit an offsite to view the newest release? I imagine to you it might be, but I can say that to me it doesn't bother me one bit.

who knows (or cares) which of our viewpoints is correct? ¯\(ツ)/¯ what matters is that we at least get translated chapters, whom we all should thank the translator for this

I completely agree with you, but I'm not gonna check their website with every update because then I'd be doing that for every other manga that I'm reading among the literal hundreds and by that point, why the hell would I be using a place like mangadex instead of making a big list with every scanlator/translator.

For me, I will wait. If it doesn't get updated here, too bad for me because I'm not going to play a chasing game with every little manga. I'll instead move onto another thing
