Thanks for pointing out this error! To everyone talking about whether she's a slut or not.
She's not, and the manga never even slightly implies that she is. It's just bad translation.
They call her an Ero Onna, which is basically like a horny woman. That's it, they said she's horny, not that she's a slut. Ero is just a shortened loan word from the original Erotic, and means mostly the same thing, Onna of course just meaning Woman. HUGE difference and I hope they fix the translation because it's really really misleading.
That's a good example why collaborative, "open source" translation efforts need to be thought out. Not an easy endeavor for sure, but it would be nice to have a system where those bugs could be easily corrected by the community, with the raw as the primary reference point. Thanks for pointing out this error!
Unfortunately, this is what happens when the group relies on a 4chan anon instead of a proper in-group TL: We can't really reach out and ask for clarification.
I did not like the word choice either, but that was the script we had. I would personally go with "pervert" as it gets the point across and is a lot closer to "horny woman" than "slut" is.
If this works, I can make the edit later today.
There is literally a public thread with the raws and TLs posted. I am not sure how much more "collaborative" you can mean. That's a good example why collaborative, "open source" translation efforts need to be thought out. I think you misunderstood what I meant. I meant a system with functionality analogous to git or a wiki, where you can push changes that get automatically embedded in the translated image, and with transparent history showing why, how, when and by whom the change was made, right from the manga reader itself. There is literally a public thread with the raws and TLs posted. I even checked just now and not a single person made a correction there.
We are doing the best we can with what we have, and when we make mistakes, we acknowledge it, correct it, and move on.
Said no man ever of his girlfriend/wife. The world of consent from a man's side is very flexible. Keep in mind this only applies to the one we are in love with and an established relationship.Uzaki's not a slut. But giving her man a handy while he's asleep is still assault.
Thanks for your work and the correctionThanks for pointing out this error!

Uzaki going dragon-spottingI just wanted to see what a boner looks like
Go ahead and build a system that allows for that which people won't mind using. Translation groups are busy enough as is.I think you misunderstood what I meant. I'm well aware you are working with the best you got, but the current system requires people to be aware of that specific forum thread, manually post there suggesting a correction that someone else needs to manually edit into the image. It's too fastidious and manual, not integrated in the manga reader. That probably explains why no one has posted any requests for a correction there.
Yeah, I have to see what I can do about that. I've been organizing a multi-language translation of a manga in my spare time, and I'll see if I can create a JSON or SVG file of each page that can be used on a python tool that renders the translation information on top of the raw image. Using SVG has the advantage to be rendered on the fly on an image viewer, but it's more difficult to construct. We'll see. In either case, having a plain text description of all the translation details per page means the changes could be tracked with git, for example.Go ahead and build a system that allows for that which people won't mind using.
