Everyone always bringing up the love potion like we forgot this story exists because of a date rape drug. The love potion has always been a way of over the top events back firing on Toudou being a shitty brat which is why we can just laugh at the "gag".

This chapter leaned a bit too close to the realistic side that the "gag" didn't hit for a lot of people which is why there's this divided opinion. Nothing in this chapter could really be read as over the top actions. A gag can only work in a gag manga if it reads like a gag and I think it's fair to just acknowledge people didn't think it was funny.

I think this is the reason most people are put off by it. I assume most of us reading this are familiar with Mochi's works so the degeneracy isn't really the problem. It was the shift in tone that took people off guard. (Prob same reason why some people didn't enjoy the sudden shounen arc)

Yamamura was introduced in this chapter. And it's not as if she's shown to be an outright horrible person. Again: are we being more critical of her because she's an adult? That's all well and good and in fact we should. But for the sake of fairness if Toudou can get a "pass" after serial drugging people is there a reason Yamamura can't? Even when Yamamura's intentions were less selfish in comparison to Toudou's?

But more than once I saw a scanlator dropping a manga because people wouldn’t shut up about how the manga was problematic and you are a terrible person if you like it. People need to stop treating manga like it’s a guideline for life. Get a life.
