The reason I picked up Watanare was because a lot of people on Discord were sad this series wasn't getting translated and since I really liked the series, I wanted to revive the manga for the community. But yeah, for the past, 5-6 chapters, it's just been people hating on this series which makes me wonder... why am I translating this if everyone hates it?
The only people "hating" here are the crazy xenophobic retard who, it seem, had his cookie stolen by a jew, and some other who only insult people criticizing this story forgeting to add counter argument.

People are pissed at the poor quality trope, that regulary get added. And you know why? Because the story is otherwise great.
When a story is good but the author just put some random bad cliché people will obviously get pissed massively, simply because they are massively let down.

If an author is good you should NOT in any way defend him when he write something poorly, even less if it dont fit the story.
Trying to prevent an author to use bad cliché is good for the author himself, letting him understand that he can do better will help him better his skill.

Most of the post under this manga are like this. People have different skill level in english, due to where they come from and other factor, also not everyone is as good with word. This lead to people expressing their disapointment in different way.
But people saying negative things about a character or a chapter dont mean people are going crazy about everything the authors made, nor that they are attacking you or anyone who translated the work.

Nothing good can be born without any negative criticism, the greatest author had to deal with the harshest criticism. As an exemple Tolkien, hailed as a one of the greatest genius writer by fantazy fan, was literaly just considered as just a kid's book writer by his peer.

@kikouma Thank you for translating this. Despite my current feelings about this chapter, I am really greatful for your work translating this and all the other chapters you've done before. Be proud of this work; you've allowed people to read and connect with this story despite the language barrier between the author and the reader. I hope you see that the audience's seeming displeasure is a sign of engagement and proof that you've done your job of conveying the story in an understandable way. More than that, I hope this hobby continues to bring you enjoyment. Even if you decide to drop this, Thank you for everything

I attest to that. Sometimes I want to write an essay, sometimes I want to rage. But in the end I often just devolve into the neutral "thank you for translations!" simply trying to not overburden thread or translator.

Also I believe all the comments, negativity included, is a proof of just how engaging the manga is. There's nothing worse than to have an interesting project and not a single comment under it!

I think you, @kikouma should be proud of all the work put in the series and just how heated people get over it! It's great.
For real, it breaks my heart to be reading something really engaging and there are 2 comments every ten chapters.

So Mai kissing her feels annoying but she does like the act of kissing and sees Ajisai lying there defenceless and is no doubt thinking of initiating a kiss. Makes it pretty clear who she actually likes. And then we get "Ajisai-san never touched on the subject again"... that had better be because Renako confesses first.

Lowkey, I've debated dropping the translation and I've been struggling to find the motivation to continue this series, hence why uploads have slowed down a lot.

I'm maybe, 2 chapters away from the Japanese Release? Once I catch up, I think I'll have to decide if I actually continue this series because I don't know anymore. Especially since now fans can just pick up the Official volumes when they eventually came out
I really love this series and greatly appreciate the time you take out of your day to bring it to us.

Don't let the loud, toxic minority get you down!

Some people just want to watch the world burn. Train trope aside, I think it's a sign of a decent author when they write characters that people love or despise. Or are frustrated by. Renako is deeply frustrating to me because I want her to grow and maybe use her words more effectively. She showed signs of that in this chapter. Mai annoys me because she takes things for granted and has the air of someone who assumes she'll get what she wants so she may as well act like she already has it. Ajisai frustrates me because she's not nude in bed with Renako where I can see. There's a lot of frustration going around, and none of it means that this manga isn't wanted or the translations are unappreciated.

I realy hope you, and the other people who said this before, are right. I sometime think that it'll end exactly like all realy bad generic romcom.

The constant low quality overused cliché are quite hard to bear. The story does a good job, we get good chapter with nice character developpement, then author go full retard and put the worst cliché. And it's always time in a way that nearly spoil all the good things that were before.

Like in this chapter, author should just have not made Ajisai say anything if she didn't want to be heard. He could have done plenty of things that would not include another useless cliché.

Great work can easily be damaged by the abuse of this kind of things.
Don't get me wrong the writing doesn't get any better or any worse and troupes be troupin but atleast things come to a conclusion that is semi reasonable

First comment ever on the website, decided on it after reading this.
Thanks very much for the translation, Translator-sensei, I've enjoyed tihs series for such a long time, and it was great being able to follow up on it.
I know how much work goes in a simple translation, so having to do all the extra work to put it to page must be may harder than some might expect. It's only fair that at least a - Thank You - goes to you and the team.
I don't want to dismiss the people who don't the manga, as they decide what they enjoy or dislike, but I think it is fair to ask to take a step back and consider the people who work on translating the stuff we follow on MangaDex: they put in the work without the remunaration of a steady job, probably working on their free time to do so. It would be nice to least consider that when criticizing the work you are reading.

There's no way you can't hear a train coming, so Ajisai definitely choosed that moment to say what she wanted.

They way I see it, it is a thematic ending: Ajisai went on this trip because she was exhausted with being always the reliable one for everybody, so she wanted to be a little selfish for a change. Now that the trip is about to end and she knows she is going back to being the responsible older sister figure, she decides to at least have this last bit of selfishness: a bold confession, looking Renako straight in the eyes, with the train signaling both the end of their trip and her hope for that romance.
