Yeah... I liked the witch a lot but Hanako was too unlikeable for me, her extreme hate and violence + the obsession with the childhood "friend" and then what made me stop reading was when she INMEDIATELY fell in love as soon as the androgynous witch made a single move on her in their first meeting! enough to do whatever she wanted... I just felt bad for Sada, after all I wanted romance but not with them anymore

Honestly, not surprised. Dropped this series multiple times, only came back due to being bored. Too much setup, not enough answers, too many characters introduced without good enough development from existing ones... pacing was a mess in general.
Nothing about the series was bad, and the art had great parts... but nothing stuck out after the first two chapters. 2.5/5

Sorry, but what answers do you expect after 17 chapters, so barely a prologue? Without the changes for the axe, this volume would have likely ended with more information about Sabbath characters, and introduction of opposing faction. So next one would be the first conflict between two sides. IMO very good pacing. Do people really expected some kind of answers for major questions in a story written as a long-form before like chapter 50?

Sal clearly had to rush things early and towards the end and that's where most of the criticism came from. Would be nice if some of the more aggressive comments thought of that a bit. Unconventional yuri series seem to get a short leash sometimes. These kinds of stories need the kind of room to breathe that they aren't always afforded regardless of quality. Plenty of reasons for that, though. Will be reading her next work the second it comes out. I'm also glad these two got together in the end or moved clearly in that direction, so I'm alright.

Can't say I'm too shocked that this one got the axe. The quality of every chapter was pretty much directly proportional to how much of a hater Hanako was being and as soon as she stopped solving problems with trolling and fisticuffs my interest dropped off a cliff.

Hell, even here at the end I just barely had time to muster up a modicum of hype for some eleventh hour old-fashioned Hanako violence before I got disappointed by a mostly peaceful resolution. Would it have killed the author to have at least given us a Hanako x Sadako CROSS COUNTER before they made up? Or at least an unobstructed close-up of her abs? Really don't feel like I'm asking for much, here.

Like, I know Japanese society can  really suck which is why shallow self insert garbage always sells so well but even then they still cancel way too many series with potential cause money is all that matters

Just realized this isn't published in a yuri magazine so it's honestly no wonder it got axed just like that Sylph yuri manga which also published in non yuri magazine

Yuri mangakas really need to stop publishing in non yuri magazines cause it has a way higher chance of getting axed

Honestly I'm glad Sal Jiang didn't completely rush an ending with every plot point shoehorned into it, this just feels like the end of a chapter/arc and that's the best it can achieve with an axe this early imo, with that said, what a shame, this was one of the most interesting yuri premises and it got snuffed out by editors, they left no room for character development, the chance for feelings to grow organically, and plot points to breathe, what a bitter aftertaste

The pacing was too rushed because of the threat of an early axe, not the other way around

There are multiple oneshots that manage to fit a satisfying story in 20-30 pages on this very website. The problem is that there are TOO many characters, and not enough time spent with already exsiting ones, every new character is an annoying interruption to learning about characters we already have. The sabbath story was introduced too early, the side characters started too numerous, it should have been a story of 90% 2-4 characters until the end of volume 1, with far more time being concentrated on the two main MCs and their internal development/goals.

Well, Sal Jiang mostly does more realistic dramas, so even if this got axed into a mess, I hope the practice doing something different helps her in the future, at least.
