the relationship now comes off as she does butt stuff to him for some reason, which is a like a dramatic turn from her being aro/ace. IMHO having someone lose in a manga like this makes sense more than retconning a character to the point of irrecognizability; the dynamic between the 2 is more interesting as a result. A doomed one-sided romance, where the story is more about letting go than getting the relationship. The pair learns from each other a bit, but doesn't end up together; thats just life. A very relatable type of story.

imho they messed up by not turning up chi's appeal enough, shes not a bad character per se but I think the sort of "unattainable" archtype should also sort of exude that. She should've had some more cute moments, and oddly smart moments for better characterization. tbh I will be annoyed if they end up together.

Nah, even drama would be fine but Chii is simply boring and one-dimensional. Would rather have an episode with the nurse or Anna's mother, if some pause from the regular cast is required.

Honestly these two just need more time to bake like Toyoda and Inuyama did and this next chapter might be their oven moment. I know others seem to feel that this series is wrapping up so to speak but honestly I think it's probably gonna keep going to show different stages of Anjou and Seto's relationship with the end being something like marriage or something but who knows honestly.

What a chapter to end up on after binding the whole series in under a week. Strange to me how the Comments on Chii started off really positive, than gradually sourced as her character got left behind by Toyoda and Anna.

I wonder where we'll end up with her and Toki.
