Damn well played son, turned a fumble into a bullseye.

Though it's absolutely crazy to me that Japanese teenagers are apparently dating for months without even a kiss. Kinda defeats the purpose if you're getting closer.

At least, it's good for Tokio, Chita is getting curious about romance.

I've always told my younger cousins that attraction follows a two-way flowchart:
Physical, gets the ball rolling.
Heart/personality, tells you whether you'll want stay.
Mental, helps fill in the dead time once the first two requirements get filled.

If both parties can at least tick the first 2 boxes, then you've as good a reason as any to pursue each other.

I've never quite gotten there myself, but they've told me later that it helped them out. That or they really don't want to be the next middle-aged virgin of the extended family and I'm some weird portent of if they fail socially hahaha
Sapiosexual/demisexual erasure.

I mean, who could blame him? Not only she's a beauty, but she's also fun to hang out with. And she's also kind and not seeing judgementally. So, for Inuyama, he's reaaaally lucky to catch Toyoda's heart.

I'm surprised that NO ONE confessed to her before Inuyama.

The nuance here is that the word "kind" really carries a lot in that statement. Men are not very picky, so finding some lofty "reason" or list of reasons for why you are with a woman isn't always easy. A lot of the time, it's not some crazy calculation like "wealth, social status, height, how he makes me feel like a princess", but rather you get attached to a woman because of her looks and then she makes you feel wanted. If she makes you comfortable to be around her, that bond grows. For Inuyama, her kindness is what made him be able to grow that bond.

Once it grows, the attachment is hard to put into words. Can you explain why you love your mother or your father? Is it really "because they brought you into this world and raised you." Does that really "explain" your love? In my opinion, no, that sentence itself feels pretty meaningless compared to the love that I feel. It's a bond; it just is.

I won't lie, the line: "You're more beautiful than any woman I could ever dream of".

Is pretty good.
