Introducing another male this late into the story, which is ironic since there hasn't really been any real progress as of late, will just hurt the series. It already has categorized itself as this harem romcom, and not a romcom with multiple couples. It will feel forced and just make the progress that we have even more longer since the author needs to develop more story and chemistry romance with the other characters.

The meta lately seems to be to squeeze every drop and make romcoms as long as LOTR. Unfortunately Rent a Girlfriend has show that if you manage to introduce a cast of likable waifus, you can get a romcom past 300 chapters and still sell well, so it looks like we are going to be here for a long time. If that's the case, I'd rather read about some other dude than Saotome playing suggar daddy simulator for the entire duration of this.

I don't think it would hurt anything because the "romantic chemistry" has been stalled for like 2/3 of the series now, we were decently set when there were only 4 or 5 girls for Saotome, the freshman girls would perfectly have gone to another freshman guy if the author had it in. We already had enough girls for one guy, present the same situation for another personality and introduce some variation on a new character.

Tsuredure Children did a metric ton of couples in 12 volumes and it was very good. I just ask for another guy with a different personality.

Rather than that, I would prefer having different couples, other dynamics, other character interactions than romcom protag-kun hypnotizing an entire school. I know this series is what it is and asking for more is silly, but what a wasted opportunity of presenting more boys and more possible love stories.

What started as "I'll pretend to like him to prank the harem!", became "I'll help this girl of the harem" and turned into "Oh, maaaaaaybe I'm not pretending to like him after all..."

Though, I'm kind of hoping that Ayano and Mai kind of team-up and try to convince Saotome to be open to the thought of dating multiple girls, specifically the two of them.
