If you’re looking for a story filled with a cute heroine, a slow and steady character progression for the MC, a mix of lewdness, innocence, romantic moments, and even the sting of rejection — this series delivers all of that perfectly.
For this series, from the very first chapter up to the latest one in 2026, I still give it a solid 10/10.
One of the main reasons is that its theme is genuinely tough. The MC deals with blackmail, pressure from others, and the kind of bullying that’s a normal part of early school life. And since the school is full of yankee-type students, the atmosphere isn’t sweet or fluffy like in other stories. It makes perfect sense that he has to stay cautious.
Even so, he eventually finds a “light” — something that helps him get through those rough moments. That’s the real core of the story.
The author clearly wants to tell a school-life story based on things he personally experienced, and he turns those moments into a manga that feels surprisingly real and genuinely well-written.
Now, if you’re expecting full-on sex scenes or a real harem, and you aren’t into tsundere moments or those accidental “oops, I touched something” situations, there are plenty of other series that fit that better.
This one is set in a school with actual students — you can’t expect it to suddenly become hentai.
Another reason the story gets long is simply because it’s about high school life: year 1, 2, 3. New characters come in, events get added, and the plot expands naturally to build more storylines.
I think it’ll probably end around chapter 370, or maybe close to 400 if they want to wrap up every major arc properly with a happy ending.
And if you reread it now, you’ll really notice how much the MC has grown. He becomes more capable, more understanding, and not just some guy who gets horny over nothing. Yes, he has a pervy side, but unlike many other protagonists who immediately fantasize about doing things with girls, this one feels far more grounded and realistic.
He’s becoming more honest with himself, too. And even though the MC is Saotome, the title is Kuzuhana for a reason — because at its heart, the story is really about Hanako’s growth and how she slowly forms a deeper relationship with him.
It’s the kind of manga that grows with you. The development isn’t rushed, the characters feel real, and the moments — sweet, awkward, funny, or a little naughty — all blend together in a way that keeps you hooked for years.
If you’re someone who enjoys long-running stories with consistent charm and something new to look forward to every year, this is absolutely for you. Even though it’s long, I’ll follow it to the very end. Good stories that end too quickly just remind me how fast life goes by.
I honestly want this series to keep going until it truly reaches 400 chapters or more — honestly, I’d read it all the way through their university years.
A solid 10/10.
If you give it a try, I’m pretty sure you’ll fall in love with it too.
